Blower Door Report
Test Date: September 7, 2016
Builder: Turnipseed
Contact: Mike Guzik
Site Address: 1183 Cabin Circle, Vail, CO
Site Visit By: Megan Gilman
Background
The project goal is to undergo testing at final construction to determine the final amount of air
infiltration. The project is located in the Town of Vail and must meet the IECC code
requirements of 3 ACH50 or lower. Active Energies was contracted to perform a final blower
door test to determine total air infiltration.
Site Observations
Construction of the building envelope was complete. All exterior openings were shut and locked
and interior doors were open. No alterations were made to any openings on the exterior of the
home. The blower door test was performed in the entry doorway adjacent to the garage,
separating the entry hallway from the outdoors. The pressure probe place outside.
Blower Door Test
The home was depressurized, utilizing blower door testing equipment to a pressure of -50 Pa. At
the test pressure, the CFM50 was recorded, in order to determine the ACH50.
The blower door air leakage resulted in the following measurements: 2.92 ACH50
This is a follow up test to one performed on 9/1/16, where a few areas of leakage were identified
for mediation, including the trim around fixed windows, the shade pocket area above the East
Master Bedroom window and the lower tracks of the lift and slide window units located in the
main living area.
