This remodel will add a shower to the third level, and a bathroom group (lavatory, water closet, shower) to the fourth level. Additionally, the clothes washer located on the third level will be relocated to the fourth level. This riser analysis has been completed off of original construction drawings dated 12/24/76. The contractor shall provide a comprehensive site review prior to installation to confirm that existing risers and fixture layouts match these existing plans. The contractor shall also confirm that all waste piping slopes at ¼”/foot, and shall confirm existing supply water pressures are suitable to handle the additional water load. If any of these conditions differ, please contact engineer for further review. See attached markups on the existing riser diagram for additional information. This information should be treated as a general guideline only; it is the contractor’s responsibility to ensure that all work adhere to the standards of the 2015 IPC. New 4th Level Bathroom Group and New 3rd Level Shower to Riser P-4 Connect the new water lines for the 4th level bathroom group and the 3rd level shower to existing riser P-4. Per the analysis below (per Appendix E of the 2015 IPC), this will maintain flows very close to or below 5 fps. Prior to connection, the existing waste lines shall be reworked as follows. The waste stack which jogs in the 2nd level ceiling shall be continued vertically (i.e. no horizontal offset) to the 3rd level ceiling, and the stack vent shall takeoff from this location. All existing horizontal drainage from the 4th floor fixtures, including the new bathroom group, shall be routed to this new stack extension. Per the analysis below (per Chapter 7 of the 2015 IPC), the added loads are below the accepted maximums for the pipes they serve.
