Background
The project goal is to undergo testing at final construction to determine if the project meets code
requirements for air leakage (3 ACH50).
Site Observations
A blower door test was completed for 756 Forest Road on February. Construction of envelope
was complete, with some minor tiling and carpentry work going on indoors. The outdoor
temperature was approximately 35 degrees.
Blower Door Test
The home was depressurized to – 38.4 Pa of pressure. On larger volume homes, the pressure is
not always capable of reaching to -50 Pa, in which case we utilize software and extrapolation
based within the calibrated gauge equipment to identify the CFM50 reading for a
depressurization of -50 Pa for consistency.
The ACH50 was 2.83 ACH50. This is less than the leakage limit within the 2015 IECC,
which is 3 ACH50.
