Please Clarify. o Response: See attached letter from structural engineer of record. • B002: Please provide wall details for proposed exterior cladding, i.e. stucco. o Response: Stucco details were previously included on the architectural drawings, refer to detail 4 on Sheet A1.1. • B003: Clarify building type with proposed construction. o Response: The existing box office building is construction type IIB, based on the 2012 IBC, Section 603.1, Fire-retardant treated wood shall be permitted in non- bearing partitions where fire-resistance rated construction is not required. Therefore fire-retardant treated wood is allowed for this non-bearing, non-rated exterior wall. A note has been added to A1.1 accordingly. • B004: PIease address special inspection criteria as per this project. Include inspection criteria i.e. periodic versus continuous. o Response: See attached letter from structural engineer of record. P 0 Box 1976 Avon CO 81620 Attn: Mr. Michael Rodenak Re: Ford Amphitheater Phase Ill Improvements, Vail, Eagle County, Colorado (M&N #8727.18) Dear Michael: Monroe and Newell Engineers, Inc. has issued the structural construction documents for the construction of a new wing wall that will be located at the south/west corner of the Ford Amphitheater ticket office building. The construction documents were dated February 27, 2015. Plan review comments by the Town of Vail Community Development Department included the request for a list of required special inspections per the International Building Code, 2012 Edition, chapter 17. The only required special inspection for structural items for this project is the inspection of epoxy doweling of reinforcement into the existing foundation walls as shown in sections 1 and 2 on sheet S1.
