Flame Stop II Wood Framing Treatment 17-6500

We arrived on site to perform testing on new Flame Stop II treated fire place hearth wood framing. One gallon of the material
was applied by spraying and brushing in three coats to less than 100 square feet of surface area, which meets the manufacturer's
recommendations for application and coverage. After the 48-hour conditioning period, we chose random locations on the
installed framing and performed the fire test as described in the Product Data Sheet using a butane lighter. A flame was held to
the bottom side of the selected wood members for 10 seconds and then removed. Any flames that developed on the siding
self-extinguished in well under the 2 second limit, but typically, no flame developed on the wood. At the time of observation, the
installed product appeared to be in general conformance with recommendations outlined in Flame Stop II Product Data Sheet.
APA Rated Fire Resistant sheathing will be used for the top surface of the hearth.
