Adam Bersin requests design approval of the attached Conceptual Review application and plans for a proposed house to be located on Lot 8, Buckhorn Subdivision, 2nd Addition, Town of
Vail, Eagle County, Colorado.
As proposed the house will be a 2 story log structure over a walkout basement w/ attached garage. Exterior materials will be 15” tip diameter lodgepole pine logs; Telluride Gold stone
veneer; gray, dimensional asphalt shingles with Corten (rusting) metal roof accents.
Lot 8 is an in-fill lot in a developed neighborhood. The lot has numerous mature spruce and small to medium sized aspen trees. There are numerous large boulders. The site plan has been
designed to save as many of these trees and boulders as possible. The home will be sited towards the rear of the buildable area to maintain the look of the existing lot.
The lot is within moderate snow avalanche, debris flow and rock fall hazard zones. See attached Geologic Hazard Report by Nathan Ash, PG, CEG. The report is favorable for the proposed
construction. Further we will provide a waste area for the large rocks uphill of the proposed house as discussed in the “discussion” section of the report
