General information: This application is required for all proposals involving the addition of any floor area, including net
floor area and/or gross residential floor area (GRFA). This also includes proposals for 'residential 250 additions' and
`interior conversions'. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be found at www.vailgov.cam under Vail Information -
Town Code Online. All projects requiring design review must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit appli-
cation. An application for Design Review cannot be accepted until all required information is received by the Community
Development Department, as outlined in the submittal requirements. The project may also need to be reviewed by the
Town Council and/or the Planning and Environmental Commission. Design review approval expires one year from the
date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and construction commences.

EXISTING INTERIOR CRAWLSPACE/GARAGE TO NEW GRFA AT 1121W
CASOLAR DEL NORTE (LOT 12B, BLOCK 7A, CASOLAR VAIL II, LION'S
RIDGE FILING 1), VAIL, COLORADO.
Design Review Board and Staff;
The Owner of the existing west unit of the duplex residence is proposing to convert an
existing crawlspace area and a portion of the existing garage at the lower level of the
existing residence to provide a new mudroom and tv room. All of the proposed new
GRFA is within the existing lower level walls, and the converted garage area will still
allow for the 2 existing parking spaces to remain.
As part of the remodel, the main level kitchen is to be remodeled. As part of the kitchen
remodel, an existing window at the north wall will be eliminated (infill finish to be stucco
to match existing), and an existing 5' sliding glass door (with window above) in the west
wall will be replaced with a new 6' wide unit.
The upper level master bedroom and bath suite will be remodeled, and a new 72"x30"
double awning window will be added in the west wall (aligned with new sliding door
below).
All new materials, finishes and colors are to match existing. No new exterior lighting is
proposed as part of this application. Should you need additional information on this
