Box 2378, Edwards, CO 81632 Tel: 970 926-4301 fax: 970 926-4364 July 28, 2014 Town of Vail Planning Department RE: Final DRB Submittal, Leever Residence, 5087 Main Gore Drive Dear Joe: As part of the Final DRB submittal - the survey, landscape plan, and site plan reference existing wetlands on the site. Our Wetlands Consultant, Jason Deem with HP Geotech, has delineated the wetlands as shown on the survey. According to Jason, he believes that the US Corp of Engineers will deem these wetlands “Isolated” and release their jurisdiction over the mitigation of the wetlands. Jason will be meeting with the US Corp of Engineers representative on August 14, 2014 to confirm this designation. If the wetlands are deemed “isolated” then we would need to develop the Wetlands mitigation plan with TOV planning and public works departments. Jason has begun to develop a mitigation plan for the wetlands that includes improving a significant portion of the existing wetlands and adding some new wetlands. The mitigation plan and site grading is intended to keep the drainage channel and wetlands area functioning as it has for the neighborhood by channeling the water that drains across the site into the wetlands area. We would like to schedule a meeting with TOV planning department and public works for August 15th to review our proposed mitigation plan (assuming that on the 14th the US Corp will deem these “isolated wetlands” since they do not directly connect to an existing stream or creek).
