HomeMy WebLinkAboutDRB140563_DRB140563 Narrative_1418675100.pdfBERGLUND ARCHITECTS, LLC Town of Vail Design Review Board, Gore Creek Properties, LLC, owner of 223 Beaver Dam, Vail, CO 81657 (Vail Village Filing 1, Block 7, Lot 39) proposes to tear down the existing structure in order to build a new primary / secondary duplex that has been designed with mountain modern characteristics and a natural material pallet. The roofs consist of shed roofs with a custom dark brown pre-finished sheet metal standing seam roof, 6x10 rafter tails, and 2x6 cedar fascias are typical with some accent exposed steel beams to expose the structure. The building siding materials are a balanced mix of stone veneer, reclaimed vertical wood siding, reclaimed horizontal ship lap wood siding with 3x3 wood trim accents, and copper panels. Steel handrails are proposed at the waterproof decks in order to create as much transparency as possible. The handrails will be painted to match the Bronze window color. The driveways will be heated exposed aggregate concrete, colored concrete, with accent flagstone at the entries. Sincerely, Hans Berglund P.O.
