Michael—this is approved as far as VRC is concerned. As discussed, it still bothers me that Low-E glass and u-factor
aren't specified in the proposal—they normally are, but if you and the Town are comfortable with the email stating the
glass specs, then that's fine by me.
Your contractor will need to file a design/review application with the Town planning department (Iris will provide you with a
letter you'll need indicating VRC approval of the door replacement). Once you have design/review approval, your
contractor will need to apply for the building permit, which the Town may issue over the counter(while you wait)for a
simple project like this. Good luck. Steve

Michael: The u-factor of 0.29 works, although the specs for the door say standard glass rather than Low-E glass (if it was
me, I'd ask them to fix the proposal to eliminate doubt). However, the dimension they gave for the distance between the
handle and bore has nothing to do with stile width (stile width is the dimension from the outside edge of the door to the
glass). As Lindsay mentioned, this needs to be at least 5.5". Thanks, Steve
