As advised by your office we have provided the attached Application for Design Review
Changes to Approved Plans and supporting documents for the Sebastian—Vail Penthouse
remodel project at 16 Vail Road, vail, Colorado. This review is requested in conjunction with
a Permit Addendum review, submitted previously to the Town of Vail Building Department.
The original building permit was submitted in March, 2014 and approved under Building
Permit#B-140081. Related prior approvals include the Design Review Board Action
DRB130238 of November 25, 2013, and Project Development Approval per the Town of Vail
Ordinance No. 13, Series of 2013.
The revisions included in this application include minor interior reconfiguration of room
access hallways and fireplace locations; inclusion of a hot tub on the master deck; minor
exterior adjustments to flue & chimney elements; and revisions to south deck walls, as
shown on the attached drawings and detailed revision summary. The exterior revisions
related to deck walls and roof elements were largely the result of accommodating as-built
and field framing conditions encountered during demolition of the existing roof and
construction of the remodel, during the very limited summer construction window. There
are no resulting impacts on previously approved building height limits or occupied floor
areas associated with these revisions.
Please see the attached Summary of Sebastian Penthouse Remodel Permit Addendum #1,
dated 02.15.2016, for a detailed, drawing by drawing description of the revisions, as clouded
on each of the attached drawings. Per discussion with your office, we have only included
floor plans and exterior drawings to show the full extent of DRB relevant modifications to
the previously approved plans. Please let me know in you have any questions or if we need
