Proposed Exterior Modifications
• The upper pentagonal ramp landing and ramp will be demolished. A new
ramp extension will continue to the west and arrive at the store floor level.
• The upper site stair will be reconfigured and a new site wall constructed to
allow for the extension of the existing north arcade. This area will be bound by
new partial height board form concrete walls and open railings
• A new patio will extend to the north and align with the western face of the
existing building. This patio area will be bound by concrete site walls clad
with an internally lit wall composed of frosted acrylic sheet and wood slats.
• A series of sun shade elements constructed of laminated glass photovoltaic
panels shall be supported with weathered steel supports. These panels will
serve as both decorative elements and provide power to the new patio and
arcade lighting.
• A new sign monument and building sign will be constructed. The monument
will also be an internally lit structure composed of frosted acrylic sheet and
wood slats.
• The new sign surface will be weathered steel and will be internally lit through a
frosted acrylic lens.
• The new patio surface will be an scored, integrally pigmented concrete
surface to match existing paving.
• A new squared store entry vestibule will be located where the angled
storefront currently exists
• The existing entrances to be abandoned shall be replaced with new fixed
glazing.
• The ceiling volumes will be exposed and the existing obscured glazing shall be
replaced with clear glazing.
• A new screen element will be constructed about the perimeter of the existing
loading dock.
