TOWN OF VAIL p. JOINT PROPERTY OWNER WRITTEN APPROVAL LETTER The applicant must submit written joint property owner approval for applications affecting shared ownership properties such as duplex, condominium, and multi-tenant buildings. This form, or similar written correspondence, must be com- pleted by the adjoining duplex unit owner or the authorized agent of the home owner's association in the case of a con- dominium or multi-tenant building. All completed forms must be submitted with the applicants completed application. I, (print name) Christina Ferdows , a joint owner, or authority of the association, of property located at 4957 Juniper Lane , provide this letter as written approval of the plans dated 06/30/2017 which have been submitted to the Town of Vail Community Development Department for the proposed improvements to be completed at the address not- ed above. I understand that the proposed improvements include: The removal of two evergreens and two aspens. The evergeens are up against the house and need to be removed due to proximity to residence. The aspen on the right side of the house is root bound and is a fail hazard. The double stem on the left side of the driveway has significant black rot canker, a poor union and is a future hazard. All trees on site are flagged orange. See attached email for written approval. I understand that modifications may be made to the plans over the course of the review process to ensure compliance with the Town's applicable codes and regulations; and that it is the sole responsibility of the applicant to keep the joint property owner apprised of any changes and ensure that the changes are acceptable and appropriate. Submittal of an application results in the applicant agreeing to this statement. Signature Date Print Name Title/Position I/We authorize any and all changes submitted to the Town in reference to the above mentioned project. (Initials) I/We waive all rights to notification and review of submitted changes. I/We do not authorize any changes submitted to the Town in reference to the above mentioned project. (Initials) I/We wish to receive notifications and reviews of submitted changes. 7/18/2017 Old Growth Tree Service Mail-FW:Quote from Old Growth Tree Service-06/30/2017 a E G M Mike Earl <mearl@oldgrowth-tree.com> FW: Quote from Old Growth Tree Service - 06/30/2017 1 message Tom Vucich <tvucich@slifer.net> Sat, Jul 15, 2017 at 11:52 AM To: "mearl@oldgrowth-tree.com" <mearl@oldgrowth-tree.com> Hi Mike--see below. He recommended taking the 2nd evergreen next to the big double one because of its closeness to the houses--I suppose we could leave it, but he felt as long as the crane was there it would ultimately save $$ as it may need to come down at some point in the future as a hazard. The aspen on the right side (ours) is root bound and a hazard to us so that one plus stump grinding ($250 +112) would be solely our expense. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/?ui=2&ik=a6eb6649f6&jsver=gNcEVBmGY9Q.en.&view=pt&q=tvucich%40slifer.net&qs=true&search=query&th=15d4... 1/4 7/18/2017 Old Growth Tree Service Mail-FW:Quote from Old Growth Tree Service-06/30/2017 The other aspen is the double stem of the one rotted and once it's taken the root system would be compromised (again a hazard for potential falling and a threat to both houses) and thus his recommendation for taking both. He mentioned additional stump grinding for the big double in the back if your deck is going to be removed soon. If not, there will be a sizeable stump and roots remaining which would be unsightly and probably complicate any landscape options we will have once the trees are gone. We just got back from Europe. Question, why do we have so many trees that need to be removed? I thought we just had the one on the back deck, and the one that seems to have died in its core. Are the rest of the trees sick? Thank you. Also, I should have the updated driveway proposal within the next day or so. https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/?ui=2&ik=a6eb6649f6&jsver=gNcEVBmGY9Q.en.&view=pt&q=tvucich%40slifer.net&qs=true&search=query&th=15d4... 2/4 7/18/2017 Old Growth Tree Service Mail-FW:Quote from Old Growth Tree Service-06/30/2017 From: Tom Vucich Sent: Friday, June 30, 2017 1:02 PM To: Christina Ferdows (cferdows@sutrakusa.com) Subject: FW: Quote from Old Growth Tree Service - 06/30/2017 Hello Christina--attached is the quote from the arborist/tree removal company. This quote has a couple of additional trees that he felt because of their condition and hazard potential should also be removed. The one aspen "on the right side" is just outside our living room window and we would bear the cost of that removal ourselves since it doesn't directly affect your home. I mentioned to him that you had previously said you were going to remove your back deck. If that is still your plan if it could be done prior to the tree removals in the back he can get a stump grinding machine back there to take the old stumps down to grade--much better end product I think. Let me know if you have questions and if not, if you are OK with proceeding. We'll need to get your signature of approval for the Town of Vail permit he will obtain. Thanks.
