Bios - Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council Representatives_FINALVail Local Marketing District Advisory Council Representatives Jenn Bruno Vail Town Council/Owner of Luca Bruno and DUE Jenn has served on the town council since 2013. She has lived in Vail for over 20 years. Jenn and her husband Luca own and operate DUE and Luca Bruno, two clothing boutiques in Vail Village. Jenn has been Mayor Pro Tem for the last two years. Prior to her service as a Town Council member, Jenn was a member of the Commission on Special events for four years and the Chair for two years. She serves as the Town Council representative on the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council. John Dawsey Colorado Mountain Express John Dawsey is a twenty-four year veteran of the hospitality industry. He has served a variety of lodging and transportation operations, sales and marketing leadership roles within the mountain resort industry. In June 2009 John joined Colorado Mountain Express as Director of Sales and Marketing, Colorado’s largest ground transportation service provider. He was promoted to Vice President & General Manager in September of 2015. As a member of CME’s leadership team, John has been instrumental in helping drive CME’s growth over the last eight years through new guest service initiatives, new technology enhancements, partner relationships and staff development. John has served as Treasurer on the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Committee for twelve years and is active in a variety of community organizations. Scott Gubrud The Four Seasons Scott Gubrud served in a variety of capacities within the sales and marketing hospitality field spanning almost 30 years. He currently is Director of Sales & Marketing for Four Seasons Resort and Residences Vail and has also worked for other luxury brands as well as independents such as Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa, Vail Cascade (Destination Hotels and Resorts), Beaver Run Resort and Keystone Resort. He has been actively involved in the industry currently serving on the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council and served on the Board along with being Past President of Destination Colorado. Scott received his degree in Finance & Marketing from the University of Colorado at Denver and received his certification as a Hospitality Sales Professional from AHMA. Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council Page | 1 Kelli McDonald Town of Vail Kelli McDonald is the Economic Development Manager for the Town of Vail and has been in her current position for 10 years. She is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of several town of Vail boards including the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council, Commission on Special Events and the Vail Economic Advisory Council. Prior to this she was the Vice President of Marketing for the Vail Valley Chamber & Tourism Bureau (now the Vail Valley Partnership). Before relocating to Vail she spent 25 years managing advertising agencies in Denver such as Barnhart Advertising, Evans Group and Tracy Locke Denver. Phil Metz Vail Resorts Phil Metz is the Senior Director of Brand Marketing for Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek Resort. Metz, previously the Director of Marketing for Beaver Creek, oversees the marketing departments and brand direction at both Vail Mountain and Beaver Creek and serves on the Beaver Creek Resort Company Board and the Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council. Laurie Mullen West Vail Liquor Mart Laurie started her sales and marketing career at Lion Square Lodge and eventually directed four Vail Valley properties. She helped create and brand The Resort Company which managed over 25 independently owned properties in Vail, Beaver Creek and Steamboat Springs. In 2008, Laurie decided to leave hospitality and focus her efforts in the retail sector and other personal goals. She joined her husband, Tom, in managing West Vail Liquor Mart, their business in West Vail. Laurie has been involved in many community organizations and boards including Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council, Vail Economic Advisory Council, Vail Valley Partnership, Eagle Air Alliance, HSMAI, CO Licensed Beverage Assoc, Bravo Vail, Vail Valley Cares, Women's Foundation, recreational and youth hockey. Skip Thurnauer Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council Page | 2 VLMDAC Board Member Skip spent over 40 years in healthcare marketing and advertising, beginning with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in marketing and marketing research. After a decade with Pfizer, Skip transitioned to advertising where he was responsible for some of the largest product launches in pharmaceutical history, including the largest product in today’s global pharmaceutical market, Humira. Skip was the President of McCann-Erickson Healthcare Chicago and was the Managing Director of Euro RSCG Healthcare Chicago. As a partner in a boutique healthcare advertising agency, Skip helped start an agency to market healthcare products to Hispanics, and joint ventures for medical education and interactive/internet media. He was the Chairman and a board member of the Midwest Healthcare Marketing Association for over a decade. Skip joined the Vail Local Marketing Advisory Council in 2010 and has enjoyed the opportunity to deliver a different kind of “healthcare” message to people looking for a mountain vacation experience. Laura Waniuk Town of Vail Laura Waniuk is the Event Liaison Specialist for the Town of Vail and has held her position for 4 years. Laura is responsible for management of the Commission on Special Events as well as overseeing and approving event marketing. She also participates in economic development initiatives and relevant boards. Her previous career path was in games and toys as either an event, product or brand manager at Microsoft, Hasbro, Cranium and Mega Brands. She currently serves on the Vail Valley Business Women’s Board as the Membership Director. Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council Page | 3
