Sounds Good Tom!
I believe you are good to move forward. Thanks for providing the plan for our review.

That one stick of CMP is considered temporary. It provides the temporary connection of the walk to the road. The
future condition would have the walk continue west and not tie into the road. We would suggest we leave that in as
CMP and once the walk gets extended we remove and replace with RCP at that time.
Thank you for the quick review!

Tom,
I had the CDOT Hydrologist review this stormwater plan. I believe his only concern was all of the new
concrete pipe (RCP) tying into an existing CMP pipe that will likely be ready for replacement much sooner. He
suggested replacing the existing 24" CMP pipe with RCP. However I do not believe we are requiring it we are
just strongly suggesting it. What are your thoughts?

Please find attached revisions for Permit 314011.
The revisions include the installation of ~147 LF of 24” and 7 LF of 18” RCP, along with 3 inlets, in order to eliminate the
existing ditch adjacent to the South Frontage Road.
The Town and the Permittee (Lionshead Inn LLC, Rodrigo Cortina) request approval of this revision and an extension for
this work until October 15th 2017.
The intent is to complete the work as soon as possible, however considering summer constraints in Vail and the current
difficulty in scheduling contractors we recognize it may get pushed into early Fall.
If you have any questions please contact me.
Thank you.

Tom,
I believe we are okay with this concept, however we will need a plan showing the proposed changes to ensure
proper drop inlets and proper drainage etc.

After the finish grading occurred at the Lion development, it became apparent that we would be better off if the
deep ditch along side the road was filled in.
This would require extending the RCP and adding two inlets to capture roadside drainage in a shallow swale.
Is this something that can be approved as a change to approved plans?
We would like to get it done this month.
