Planning and Environmental Commission
Major Exterior Alteration: This application is required for any proposal involving the construction of a new building, the
alteration of an existing building which adds or removes more than 100 square feet of enclosed floor area, or the
replacement of an existing building, in the Commercial Core 1 District (commonly referred to as Vail Village) or the
Commercial Core 2 District.
This application is also required for any project in the Lionshead Mixed Use 1 District or Lionshead Mixed Use 2 District,
which adds additional dwelling units, accommodation units, fractional fee club units, time-share units, any project which
adds more than one thousand (1,000)square feet of commercial floor area or common space, or any project which has
substantial off site impacts(as determined by the Administrator).
This application is also required for any project in the Public Accommodation District, which adds additional dwelling
units, accommodation units, fractional fee club units, any project which adds more than one thousand (1,000) square
feet of commercial floor area or common space, or any project which has substantial off-site impacts (as determined by
the Administrator).
Minor Exterior Alteration: This application is required for any proposal involving the alteration of an existing building
which adds or removes not more than 100 square feet of enclosed floor area, the alteration of an existing building which
modifies exterior rooflines, the addition of a new outdoor dining deck or the modification of an existing outdoor dining
deck in the Commercial Core 1 District (commonly referred to as Vail Village)or the Commercial Core 2 District. Please
see Sections 12-78-7 and 12-7C-5, Exterior Alterations or Modifications,Vail Town Code for more detailed information.
