The Town Code requires that "construction is commenced and is diligently pursued toward completion" within one year of approval or the approval of the project shall lapse. Vail Resorts is proposing to begin construction on the snowcat access road in the Spring of zoog. As our DRB approval will expire prior to the commencement of construction, we are requesting an extension of the approval to allow for construction to occur in the spring. Section s2-11-12, Vail Town Code, allows for the Community Development Staff to extend the period of approval. The variance and conditional use permit approvals are valid for 2 years, and will expire in January of Zoso. Therefore, no extension of these approvals is required at this time. There are no changes to the design of the access road from the previous approval.
