Intelligent Sounder BaseB200SThe B200S sounder base series is designed for new andexisting dwelling unit applications. It offers maximum flexibilityin installation, configuration, and operation to meet or exceedUL 268 and UL 464 requirements.The sounder base “listens in” to the communication betweenthe attached sensor head and the fire alarm control panel(FACP) to adopt the same address as the detector, but as aunique device type on the loop. The FACP can then use thataddress to command an individual sounder — or a group ofsounders — to activate. The command set from the panel canbe tailored to the specific event, allowing selection of volume,tone, and group. In addition, so FACPs will enable custom tonepatterns. With its attractive aesthetics, the B200S is ideal to use forapplications where the appearance is critical. For example, toeliminate unsightly surface-mount boxes, the sounder baseemploys a separate mounting plate that can be installed onvarious junction box sizes. In addition, the mounting plateenables prewiring of all connections to simplify the installation.The housing is installed with the mounting plate and is locked inposition with two retaining screws. The retaining screws arecovered by the installed sensor head for added tamperresistance.
