Gentlemen:
As discussed, based on the information forwarded to us, it is our opinion the existing
cantilever decks can be reframed using the existing joists.
At the few locations where the existing joists are visibly damaged the ends should be
removed and replaced per the attached detail. This detail also shows the typical rim joists
condition that should be installed.
