Job No. 114 179A
Subject:
Gentlemen:
Construction Observation and Testing Completion Letter, Deck Pads and
Elevator Addition, Northwood Condominiums, Unit Fl, 600 Vail Valley
Drive, Vail, Colorado
As requested by Warren Krok ofNedbo Construction, we are providing a summary of our
observation and testing services provided for the above referenced project. The reports of
the services requested and performed for the project are attached. We previously
evaluated the bearing soils for design of foundations at the site and presented our findings
in a report dated May 30, 2014, Job No. 114 179A.
The foundation bearing soils exposed at the bottom of the excavation were observed on
May 21 and 27, 2014, dowel holes and epoxy placement were observed on May 28, 2014,
and fresh concrete placed for the foundation was sampled and tested on May 28 and 30,
2014 according to the project specifications.
Based upon inferences drawn from our observation and testing, as documented by the
attached daily field reports, it is our professional opinion that the referenced construction
has achieved the specified conditions. Please recognize that construction observation and
testing are sampling functions that involve direct observation and testing of very limited
amount of the overall work to evaluate the construction compliance.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please call our office.
Sincerely,
SLP/ksw
