There is a steel column shown on the upper floor framing plan (Sheet 34) between grids 4 & 5 and C.5 &
0 which was specified to have a cap plate which was bolted to the steel beam above. In lieu of the bolts
a welded connection using 3/16" fillet welds on two sides is an acceptable alternative.
