HomeMy WebLinkAboutM501 CONTROLS.pdfHEATING WATER SUPPLY TEMPERATURE SETPOINT SHALL BE RESET FROM
140°F @ 30°F OSA TO 100°F @ 60°F OSA. PROVIDE AN OUTDOOR AIR SENSOR
LOCATED ON THE NORTH EXPOSURE. CONTROL SHALL ABANDON THE ABOVE
OSA RESET CURVE DURING DEMAND FOR DHW PRODUCTION TO PROVIDE 180°F
HWS SETPOINT.
HWS SETPOINT SHALL BE MAINTAINED BY MODULATING AND STAGING ON
BOILERS IN SEQUENCE. BOILER CONTROL VALVE SHALL BE OPEN AND
ASSOCIATED BOILER CIRC PUMP SHALL BE ENABLED WHEN ASSOCIATED BOILER
IS ENABLED AND CLOSED/OFF WHEN ASSOCIATED BOILER IS DISABLED. ALL
BOILERS SHALL OPERATE VIA FACTORY MOUNTED CONTROLS TO PROVIDE HWS
SETPOINT.
UPON A CALL FOR HEAT FROM ANY SPACE LOAD, THE LOAD'S ASSOCIATED
HEATING WATER CIRCULATION PUMP(S) SHALL RUN. THE PUMPS SHALL STOP
WHEN A CALL FOR HEAT IS NO LONGER PRESENT.
BOILER INTERNAL CONTROLS SHALL BE INTERLOCKED WITH ASSOCIATED
BOILER CIRCULATING PUMP. WHEN BOILER IS ENABLED DUE TO CALL FOR HEAT
FROM SPACE LOAD, CIRCULATING PUMP SHALL START. CONVERSELY, WHEN
BOILER IS DISABLED, CIRCULATING PUMP SHALL STOP.
UPON A CALL FOR HEAT FROM A TANK MOUNTED AQUASTAT SET AT 120°F(ADJ.)
ON THE DOMESTIC HOT WATER STORAGE TANK, THE DHW INJECTION PUMP AND
ASSOCIATED BOILER SHALL RUN AND BOILER CIRCULATING PUMP SHALL BE
DISABLED. DOMESTIC INJECTION PUMP AND BOILER SHALL STOP AND BOILER
CIRCULATION PUMP SHALL RESUME NORMAL OPERATION WHEN A CALL FOR
HEAT IS NO LONGER PRESENT.
PROVIDE BOILER SHUTDOWN SWITCH LOCATED AT BOILER ROOM EXIT DOORS.
SHUTDOWN SYSTEM SHALL COMPLY WITH ASME-CDS-1. DIVISION 23
CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE SWITCH AND ALL REQUIRED CONTROL
WIRING. ALL WIRING SHALL BE IN CONDUIT. A CLEAR POLYCARBONATE HINGED
COVER SHALL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL OPERATION OF SWITCH.
SWITCH SHALL HAVE ENGRAVED NAMEPLATES TO IDENTITY SWITCH AS "BOILER
EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN". DIVISION 23 CONTROLS CONTRACTOR SHALL
COORDINATE WITH DIVISION 26 FOR SAFE SHUTDOWN OF BOILERS.
UPON A CALL FOR FIRST STAGE HEAT FROM A ROOM SPACE TEMPERATURE
SENSOR SET AT 68°F (ADJ.), TELESTAT(S) OR CONTROL VALVES IN ASSOCIATED
RADIANT FLOOR MANIFOLD SHALL OPEN TO ALLOW WATER TO FLOW THROUGH
THE RESPECTIVE ZONE. TELESTATS AND CONTROL VALVES SHALL BE CLOSED
WHEN A CALL FOR HEAT IS NO LONGER PRESENT. FOR A RADIANT ZONE WITHIN
A FORCED AIR ZONE, RADIANT FLOOR HEATING SHALL BE LOCKED OUT WHEN A
ZONE IS IN COOLING MODE. FOR A RADIANT ZONE WITH WOOD FLOORING, AN
IN-FLOOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN EACH ZONE SHALL CLOSE THE CONTROL
VALVE WHEN WOOD FLOORING TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 80°F (ADJ).
UPON A CALL FROM AN IN-SLAB TEMPERATURE/MOISTURE SENSOR (TEKMAR 090
OR EQUIVALENT), SNOWMELT CIRCULATION PUMP SHALL RUN IN ACCORDANCE
WITH MANUFACTURER'S INTERNAL CONTROLS TO MAINTAIN CONSTANT
PRESSURE AND SNOWMELT INJECTION PUMP SHALL CYCLE TO MAINTAIN A
SNOWMELT SUPPLY TEMPERATURE OF 120°F (ADJ.); CONTROL VALVES FOR
ASSOCIATED ZONES MATCHED WITH THE SENSOR SHALL OPEN. PUMPS SHALL
BE OFF AND CONTROL VALVES CLOSED WHEN A CALL FOR HEAT IS NO LONGER
PRESENT.
