The following is a summary of services provided on this date. As directed by JP with Patriacca,GROUND inspected the following: 1)Inspected welded connections of HSS12x6 to HSS column,HSS12x4 to HSS column,HSS to HSS,HSS hangers to HSS,welded column to saddle per detail 5/S303 and shop welded saddles to HSS column at grid N10.2,A/10.8,A/11.5,A/12 for the second level framing. The unapproved details did not have welding details and the following below is of the inspection results with added pictures attached to the following pages. A)HSS12x6 welded to the HSS 4x4 near grid A/11 has no weld detail,GROUND is requesting clarification from the Engineer of Record (EOR),The welds are seen welded on the top and bottom,but the back side can not be seen due to limited access. Picture#1 is attached to the second page of the report. This will be added as discrepancy item#1. B)HSS12x4 welded to the HSS4x4 near grid A/11.5 has no weld detail,GROUND is requesting clarification from the EOR. The connection was welded all around. Picture#2 attached to the second page of this report. This will be added as discrepancy item#2. C)HSS4x4 hangers to HSS12x6 and the HSS10x4 to HSS10x4 have no weld details,GROUND is requesting clarification from the EOR. The connection was welded all around. Picture#3 and#4 is attached to the second page of this report. This will be added as discrepancy item#3. D)HSS10x4 to HSS12x4 has no weld detail,GROUND is requesting clarification from the EOR. The connection was welded all around. Picture#5 and#6 is attached to the third page of this report. This will be added as discrepancy item#4. E)The welds were visually found in acceptance with AWS D1.1-10 clause 6 table 6.1. 2)The structural documents require Town of Vail approval and any RFI received prior to GROUND approval.
