POOL DEPTH MARKERS ON THE FACE OF THE POOL WALL SHALL BE LOCATED AT OR ABOVE THE WATER SURFACE OF THE SWIMMING POOL IN PLAIN VIEW TO BATHERS. C. DEPTH MARKERS SHALL BE OF COLOR CONTRASTING WITH BACKGROUND COLOR. 7. ALL POOL STEPS AND SEAT EDGES SHALL HAVE A MIN. OF 2" TILE BAND OF CONTRASTING COLOR. 8. ALL JUNCTIONS BETWEEN SWIMMING POOL WALLS AND THE SWIMMING POOL FLOOR SHALL BE COVED. 9. ALL WATER INLETS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 15' INTERVALS. 10. IF TOILET / DRESSING ROOMS ARE INCLUDED, THEY SHALL HAVE NON SLIP FLOORING. 11. EMERGENCY SHUTOFF SHALL BE LOCATED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY AND VISIBLE FROM POOL /SPA. 1. OWNER TO KEEP DAILY RECORDS ON POOL OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE TO BE SUBMITTED AS REQUIRED TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT WHILE THE POOL IS IN OPERATION. 2. PROVIDE FOR FRESH AIR VENTING / AIR HANDLING (AND HEATING OR COOLING AS REQUIRED) IN MECHANICAL ROOMS, POOL / SPA EQUIPMENT ROOMS, CHEMICAL STORAGE & INDOOR POOL / SPA FACILITIES. 2. HEAT EXCHANGERS NEED SPECIFIC Btu REQUIREMENTS PROVIDED THROUGH HOUSE BOILER SYSTEM W/ ZONE VALVE REQUIRED. PROVIDE 24V, ALL BOILER CONTROL WIRING FROM CONTROL THERMOSTAT (DRY SWITCH) TO BOILER CONTROLS. 3. PROVIDE AND INSTALL BOILER SYSTEMS. MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL GAS PIPING AND VENTING, INCLUDING EXHAUST, COMBUSTION AND MAKEUP AIR VENTING. GAS HEATERS NEED SPECIFIC GAS AND VENTING REQUIREMENTS AND WILL NEED TO BE INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURER REQUIREMENTS. 4. PROVIDE AND INSTALL HEATER VENTING, AND COMBUSTION AIR, IF NECESSARY. 5. ALL GAS PIPING, IF NECESSARY. 6. PLUMBING CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE FRESH WATER CONNECTION TO POOL, AND WASTE WATER CONNECTION FROM FILTER, INCLUDING BACK FLOW PREVENTER (SUPPLIED TO POOL MECHANICAL ROOM WITH THREADED ADAPTER FOR POOL CONTRACTOR TO HOOKUP TO POOL PLUMBING) AS SPECIFIED AND SHOWN ON DRAWINGS. 7. FLOOR DRAINS: AT LEAST ONE TO SANITARY SEWER FOR ANY MOISTURE FROM EQUIPMENT AND MAINTENANCE IF A SAND FILTER IS USED A DRAIN TO SANITARY SEWER FOR BACK WASHING (TO HANDLE 140 GPM BY GRAVITY). FURNISH AND INSTALL THE FILTER BACKWASH FLOOR SINKS AND / OR STANDPIPES AND LINE BEYOND AIR-GAP TO WASTE. 8. FURNISH AND INSTALL HOSE BIBS IN MECHANICAL / POOL EQUIPMENT ROOMS AND IN DECK AREAS AS SHOWN IN DRAWINGS, OR AS REQUIRED. 9. FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL 'DECK DRAINS' TO WASTE AS REQUIRED BY CODE. PROVIDE FOR ADDITIONAL DECK DRAINAGE AS SHOWN ON ARCHITECTURAL AND LANDSCAPING DRAWINGS. 10. EYE WASH OR EMERGENCY SHOWER STATION SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR. THEY SHALL BE INSTALLED PER OSHA AND ANSI REQUIREMENTS. 11. FURNISH AND INSTALL RPZ BACK FLOW PREVENTER AND ISOLATION VALVES FOR DOMESTIC FRESH WATER SUPPLY. 12. FURNISH AND INSTALL FRESH WATER AND WASTE WATER PLUMBING TO MECHANICAL / POOL EQUIPMENT ROOM. 13. ASSIST POOL CONTRACTOR AT TIME OF START UP. ELECTRICAL WORK: 1. ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, EQUIPMENT, HOOK-UPS, WIRING AND CONDUIT. ALL WIRING TO CONFORM TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE AND STATE ELECTRICAL CODES. 2. POOL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE FILTER PUMPS, MOTORS, AUTO-FILL SOLENOIDS AND PRE-WIRED CONTROL ASSEMBLIES AS CALLED FOR ON PLANS AND OR REQUIRED BY POOL SYSTEMS EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL AND WIRE ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FURNISHED BY THE POOL CONTRACTOR AND SHALL PROVIDE ALL DISCONNECT SWITCHES, EMERGENCY SHUT OFF SWITCHES, PANELS, GROUNDING, CONDUIT AND MOTOR STARTERS OR RELAYS IF REQUIRED, AS INDICATED OR REQUIRED BY CODES. 3. THE ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE POOL SHELL GROUNDING PER N.E.C. ARTICLE 680. 4. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL POWER AND CONTROL WIRING AS INDICATED BY SCHEMATIC DETAIL OF DRAWINGS AND ELECTRICAL COORDINATION TABLE. 5. ALL ELECTRICAL DISCONNECTS, SWITCHES, MAGNETIC STARTER, STOP-START STATIONS, RECEPTACLES AND RELAYS SHALL BE SPECIFIED BY CSI- DIVISION 16 WORK, AND COORDINATED WITH THE POOL CONTRACTORS WORK. FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL CONDUIT, WIRING FOR DISCONNECTS, MAGNETIC STARTERS, STOP-START STATIONS, RELAYS AND CONTROLS AS REQUIRED AND INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING PUMP MOTORS, ETC.... 6. FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL OUTLETS AND SERVICE NEEDED FOR THE CHEMICAL FEED AREA EXHAUST FANS, CHLORINE AND CHEMICAL FEED PUMPS, AUTOMATIC WATER LEVEL CONTROLS AND SOLENOID VALVE, WATER CHEMICAL ANALYZER EQUIPMENT (INCLUDING TELEPHONE TERMINALS BY CODE) AND RELATED CONTROLLED PUMPS, FLOW SWITCHES, AS WELL AS ADEQUATE LIGHTING IN THE MECHANICAL / POOL EQUIPMENT AND RELATED SPACES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SPECIFICATIONS AND AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. INTERLOCK ALL CHEMICAL FEED EQUIPMENT AS SHOWN ON THE ELECTRICAL CONTROL SCHEMATIC. 7. ELECTRICAL AND BONDING CONNECTIONS FOR THE STEEL CAGE OF POOLS, ANY HANDRAILS, ALL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING LIGHTS (NEED CONDUIT RUN FROM POOL LIGHT TO DECK BOX AND THEN TO EQUIPMENT ROOM) AND ALL NECESSARY OUTLETS FOR EQUIPMENT. 8. INSTALLATION OF ANY POOL OR SPA LIGHTS WITH GROUNDING WIRES. POOL CONTRACTOR WILL SUPPLY POOL / SPA LIGHTS. 9. ALL LIGHT RUNS NEED TO GO FROM SHELL LIGHT NICHE TO DECK BOX LOCATED AT LEAST 18" ABOVE WATER LEVEL. THEN FROM THE DECK BOX TO THE CONTROL BOX. 10. ALL CONDUIT RUNS FOR HIGH VOLTAGE, INCLUDING CONDUIT FROM POOL LIGHT NICHE TO DECK BOX JUNCTION TO EQUIPMENT ROOM. 11. ALL GROUNDING AND BONDING OF ALL NECESSARY WATER FEATURES OR ITEMS IN OR NEAR ALL WATER FEATURES, PER LOCAL AND NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODES. 12. NO OUTLETS LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET OF POOL. ALL OTHER OUTLETS SHALL BE G.F.I. PROTECTED AS REQUIRED, REFER TO ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR LOCATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS. 13. PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO POOL CONTRACTOR AT TIME OF START UP. STRUCTURAL NOTES: 1. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER SHALL PROVIDE ALL BUILDING AND SITE STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED FOR POOL AND SPA CONSTRUCTION. 2. SOIL SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM BEARING VALUE OF 1000 PSF. CONCRETE SHALL BE PLACED AGAINST UNDISTURBED SOIL OR BUILDING DEPARTMENT APPROVED 90 % COMPACT FILL. THIS PLAN IS NOT SUITABLE WHERE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR DIFFERENTIAL MOVEMENT FROM DISSIMILAR SOIL CONDITIONS UNDER POOL, SUCH AS CUT-FILL TRANSITIONS. 3. ALL REINFORCING STEEL SHALL BE DEFORMED BARS AND CONFORM TO ASTM A615 SPLICES TO BE LAPPED 22" MIN; MIN. CLEARANCE BETWEEN PARALLEL BARS IS 21/2". REFER TO DRAWINGS FOR SIZES AND SPACING. 4. GROUNDING PER N.E.C./C.E.C OF THE STRUCTURAL REINFORCING MUST BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO PLACEMENT OF CONCRETE. 5. SHOT CRETE (GUNITE) TO BE IN CONFORMANCE WITH UBC/IBC SECTION 1914 AND SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF 4000 PSI AT 28 DAYS, AND CONSIST OF 1 PART PORTLAND CEMENT TO 41/2 PARTS SAND & 3 GALLONS OF WATER PER SACK OF CEMENT. 6. CEMENT SHALL CONFORM TO UBC/ IBC STD 19-1, ASTM 150.6. 7. USE TYPE V PORTLAND CEMENT IN AREAS WITH MORE THAN 2 % SULFATE CONTENT AND AS DIRECTED BY LOCAL BUILDING CODES. 8. KEEP CONCRETE DAMP CONTINUOUSLY FOR 14 DAYS. 9. ALL INTERIOR SURFACES OF POOL AND SPA SHALL BE COATED WITH A WATERPROOF PLASTER FINISH. GENERAL CONTRACTOR WORK: 1. ALL SITE WORK SHALL BE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR. INCLUDING SITE PREPARATION AND EXCAVATION, INCLUDING ANY TRENCHING FOR PLUMBING AND CONDUIT RUNS. ALL COSTS RELATED TO SPECIAL SOIL PREPARATION, STABILIZATION, FLASH COATS ( IF REQUIRED), BACK FILL AND DRAINAGE AROUND THE POOL / SPA FOR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE PNEUMATICALLY APPLIED CONSTRUCTION METHOD SO THAT THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION RESULTS IN A COMPLETE SYSTEM WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER. 2. ALL BENCHMARKS AND LAYOUT POINTS. 3. ALL SITE WORK SHALL NOT BE STARTED UNTIL THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR HAS LOCATED ALL EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, NOTIFIED THE LOCAL GAS, ELECTRICAL OR OTHER UTILITY COMPANIES. 4. IT IS THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTACTOR TO MAINTAIN EXISTING SITE WORK CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTAIN EXISTING VEGETATION, PER THE ARCHITECTURAL AND LANDSCAPE DRAWINGS. 5. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING FRESH WATER TO FILL THE POOL AND/OR SPAS. 6. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A CLEAN AND SAFE SITE. 7. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SOILS CONDITIONS AND ANY UNDER DRAINAGE SYSTEMS REQUIRED. POOL AND/OR SPAS SHALL NOT BE LOCATED WHERE GROUND WATER EXISTS, ABOVE BOTTOM OF POOL DURING HIGH WATER TABLE, UNLESS HYDRO STATIC RELIEF VALVES ARE INSTALLED AT THE LOW POINT IN THE POOL, AND ALL PUMPING OR DE-WATERING NECESSARY TO KEEP EXCAVATIONS FREE FROM WATER. POOL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE NOTIFIED IF HYDRO STATIC RELIEF VALVES ARE REQUIRED, PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. SOILS REPORT REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE FOLLOWED. 8. ALL BACK FILL WORK PER SOILS AND STRUCTURAL RECOMMENDATIONS. 9. ANY OVER EXCAVATION AND PLACEMENT OF STONE OR COMPACTED ENGINEERED FILL REQUIRED ELSEWHERE BY THE DOCUMENTS FOR BUILDING STRUCTURES AND COMPONENTS, SHALL ALSO APPLY TO THE POOL AND SPAS AND BURIED PIPING. WISHA / OSHA REGULATIONS SHOULD BE ADHERED TO. 10. PROVIDE THAT ALL SOILS ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATIONS HAVE BEEN EXECUTED. GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS TO PROVIDE COMPACTED STRUCTURAL FILL, WITH CLEAN GRAVEL AS REQUIRED BY SOILS REPORT. 11. PROVIDE THAT ALL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATIONS HAVE BEEN EXECUTED. 12. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ANY WATERPROOFING SYSTEMS OUTSIDE OF POOL STRUCTURE IN REGARDS TO STRUCTURAL SLAB PENETRATIONS AND OR ARCHITECTURAL BUILDING PENETRATIONS. 13. PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL CHLORINE RESISTANT SEALANT AND EXPANSION JOINTS OUTSIDE THE POOL STRUCTURE WITHIN AREAS OF POOLS / SPAS OR DECK, INCLUDING BACKER RODS, PRIMERS AND ACCESSORIES REQUIRED. 14. PROTECT ALL TILE SURFACES AND / OR FINISHES FROM CONCRETE OR PAINT SPLASH OR DAMAGE UNTIL ACCEPTED BY OWNER. 15. IF SAFETY FENCING IS REQUIRED, THE GENERAL CONTACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REQUIREMENTS, LOCATION AND CONSTRUCTION. IF HANDRAILS OR HANDICAP RAMPS OR LIFTS ARE REQUIRED, THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTALLATION OF DECK ANCHORS WITH BONDING, AS REQUIRED. 16. ALL STATE AND LOCAL DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH CONSTRUCTION PERMITTING. 17. ALL STATE AND LOCAL BUILDING DEPARTMENT CONSTRUCTION PERMITTING. 18. IT IS THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO MAINTAIN ALL NECESSARY BARRICADES, SIGNS, LIGHTS, FLARES AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT AS REQUIRED TO PROTECT WORKERS AND THE PUBLIC. 19. PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN PROPER SHORING AND BRACING FOR EXISTING UTILITIES, SEWERS, BUILDING FOUNDATIONS, OR ANY BUILDING COMPONENTS. 20. PROVIDE MECHANICAL / POOL EQUIPMENT ROOM WITH NECESSARY PUMP HOUSEKEEPING PADS AND METAL EQUIPMENT RACKS AS REQUIRED. CONCRETE WORK: 1. ALL SITE CONCRETE WORK SHALL BE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONCRETE CONTRACTOR. 2. PROVIDE ALL BLOCK OUTS AS REQUIRED. 3. PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT HOUSEKEEPING PADS AS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS, COORDINATE WITH MECHANICAL / PLUMBING FOR REQUIRED DRAINS AND SLOPES. 4. IF CHEMICAL ROOMS ARE REQUIRED, PROVIDE 4" H. CURB CONTINUOUS AT BASE OF ROOMS (UNDER DOORS AND WALLS). 5. PROVIDE ALL STRUCTURAL CONCRETE WORK OUTSIDE OF POOL SHELL PER STRUCTURAL ENGINEER. 6. PROVIDE ALL NON STRUCTURAL CONCRETE WORK OUTSIDE OF POOL SHELL, PER ARCHITECTURAL / LANDSCAPE DRAWINGS. 7. ALL DECK AND COPING WORK (MAY BE COVERED UNDER MASONRY SUB CONTRACTOR.) 8. INSTALL ALL ANCHORS, SOCKETS, INSERTS AND HANDRAIL /GRAB BAR GOODS THAT ARE NOT LOCATED WITHIN THE POOL SHELLS, PROVIDED AND COORDINATED WITH POOL CONTRACTOR. 9. COORDINATE WITH POOL CONTRACTOR AND INSTALL ANY DECK SURFACE DEPTH MARKER TILES / IMBEDS AND 'NO DIVING' TILES / IMBEDS, PROVIDED BY POOL CONTRACTOR. 10. PROVIDED ALL PIPE SLEEVES AND INSTALL SLEEVES IN FORMS FOR OTHERS CONTRACTORS AT THE PROPER LOCATIONS. 11. ANY STONE / TILE WORK VENEER WORK OUTSIDE OF POOL SHELL, PER ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS. LANDSCAPING WORK: 1. ALL LANDSCAPING WORK SHALL BE THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.
