Wally,
I suggest responding to the plan review comments this way:
1. The conditions of the DRB approval states: “ Cond: CON0013920 – Roofing Material on elevator overrun shall be
as allowed per Vail Town Code”. Under this condition, using DaVinci synthetic shakes would not be “a change to
approved plans”, as these shakes are a TOV approved roofing material and thus would not require a new
application. We will be happy to provide a sample of the selected DaVinci shakes for staff to review for
color. Attached is information for the proposed material. We will bring a sample to the TOV Com. Dev. Dept. as
soon as possible.
2. MEP drawings have been uploaded to Project Dox
3. The proposed elevator only serves the basement, the street level and the upper level. As such it only serves
three levels and is therefore required to be of 1 hour fire‐resistive construction per section 713.4 – Fire‐
resistance rating. Please refer to the submitted plan sheets, A3.0 – Lower Level Plan, A3.1 – Street Level Plan,
A3.2 – Upper Level Plan and A4.0 – Roof Plan that illustrate all of the levels of the building. See also sheet A6.1 –
Enlarged Elevator Plans, that illustrate each level the elevator serves. The elevator does not serve, nor is it a
part of the clock tower portion of the building.
