CONTRACTS. ROOF PLANS AND REFLECTED CEILING PLANS DESCRIBE MECHANICAL AND
ELECTRICAL WORK AS DO OTHER DRAWINGS. NO EXTRAS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR WORK
SHOWN IN ANY PART OF THESE DRAWINGS, OR DESCRIBED IN ANY PART OF THE
SPECIFICATIONS.
SEE DRAWING A2.0 FOR WALL TYPE ( ) CONSTRUCTION & INSULATION INFORMATION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL ITEMS PROVIDED AND/OR INSTALLED BY THE
OWNER DURING CONSTRUCTION.
ALL FLOOR PLAN DIMENSIONS ARE MEASURED AS INDICATED BELOW OR UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED. WHERE DIMENSION IS ARE NOTED AS 'CLEAR', DIMENSION IS TO FINAL
FINISH.
ALL INDICATED ANGLES ARE 45 DEGREES AND 90 DEGREES, U.N.O.
ALL REFERENCED ELEVATION HEIGHTS ARE FROM DATUM ELEVATION 0'-0". SEE SITE PLAN
FOR ACTUAL GRADE ELEVATIONS.
PROVIDE SOLID BLOCKING FOR ALL WALL-MOUNTED FIXTURES & EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING,
BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SINKS (HAND SINKS, SERVICE SINKS, WORK SINKS, ETC.), WALL
BRACKETS, SHELVING, ACCESSORIES, HARDWARE AND ANY WALL-HUNG CABINETS OR
ITEMS, REGARDLESS OF LOCATION OR ROOM. THIS INCLUDES ALL OWNER-PROVIDED
EQUIPMENT THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH OWNER
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF GYPSUM WALL BOARD.

BLOCKING NOTES:
1. BLOCKING CONDITIONS SHOWN DO NOT ACCOUNT FOR ALL CONDITIONS THAT MAY EXIST
ON THE PROJECT. THE CONTRACTOR IS TO ACCOUNT FOR ALL BLOCKING INDICATED IN
ENTIRE CONTRACT DOCUMENT PACKAGE OR SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED BY THE
MANUFACTURERS OF SPECIFIED PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL WALK THE SITE TO FINALIZE ALL LOCATIONS OF BLOCKING IN
WALLS / CEILING PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF GYPSUM WALLBOARD.
3. COORDINATE THE EXACT REQUIRED LINEAR FOOTAGE AND LOCATIONS OF BLOCKING
WITH EACH SPECIFIC FIXTURE, ACCESSORY, EQUIPMENT, CASEWORK, AND MILLWORK. THE
CONTRACTOR IS TO COORDINATE WITH MILLWORK ON ALL ITEMS TO BE SUPPLIED AND / OR
INSTALLED BY SAFEWAY.
4. WHERE EXACT LOCATION OF ITEM REQUIRING BLOCKING WILL NOT BE DETERMINED UNTIL
AFTER INSTALLATION OF THE GYPSUM WALLBOARD, EXTEND BLOCKING A MIN. OF 12"
BEYOND EACH SIDE THE ESTIMATED LOCATION OF THE DESIGNATED ITEM AS INDICATED IN
THE PLANS OR AS SPECIFIED BY MANUFACTURER.
5. ALL BLOCKING IS TO BE CONTINUOUS ALONG THE FULL LENGTH OF THE ITEM REQUIRING
BLOCKING UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE OR INDICATED BY MANUFACTURER.
6. WHERE SPECIFIC CODE RELATED OR MANUFACTURER LOAD REQUIREMENTS ARE

THE TOP OF THE FLOOR DRAINS SHALL BE 1/8" ABOVE THE CONCRETE SLAB IN ALL AREAS

THE PROPOSED PROJECT SCOPE, AS DETAILED WITHIN THESE CONSTRUCTION
DOCUMENTS, SHALL ENCOMPASS ALL WORK REQUIRED TO EXPAND THE EXISTING
PRODUCE PREPARATION AREA TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL WORK SURFACES AND
3-COMPARTMENT SINK AS NEEDED TO CUT AND PACKAGE FRESH FRUIT. EXISTING
PRODUCE PREPARATION AREA IS LOCATED WITHIN THE STOCKROOM. THE
PROPOSED EXPANSION AREA SHALL HAVE FINISHES THAT MATCH THE PRE-EXISTING
PRODUCE PREPARATION AREA; INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: FRP WALL
SURFACES, VINYL-FACED CEILING GRID, SEMI-GLOSS PAINT, AND OTHER CLEANABLE
SURFACES. ALL PROPOSED FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT, FINISHES, AND PROCEDURES
SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE TO CURRENT SAFEWAY PROTOTYPICAL STANDARDS IN
REFERENCE TO THIS 'FRESH CUT FRUIT' ROLLOUT. BUILDING AREA TO REMAIN

ALREADY IN PLACE AT THE EXISTING HAND SINK.
EQUIPMENT FURNISHED AND INSTALLED BY CONTRACTOR:
- PLASTIC STRIP CURTAIN
- BOLLARDS
HOURS OF CONSTRUCTION FOR THE CUT FRUIT PROJECTS WILL BE ALL NIGHT-TIME
WORK. EACH CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO COORDINATE THE NIGHT-TIME
WORK WITH THE STORE MANAGERS NEEDS FOR HAVING EMPLOYEES WORKING
WITHIN THE PRODUCE BACKROOM PRODUCTION AREA. PRODUCE EMPLOYEE'S
TYPICALLY WILL BE WORKING DURING A 6AM TO 9PM PERIOD ON EACH DAY OF THE
WEEK. ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE CONTRACTORS WORKING HOURS MUST BE
APPROVED BY STORE MANAGER AND SAFEWAY'S PROJECT MANAGER.
