FLOOR LEVELING: PROVIDE AND INSTALL CONCRETE SLAB LEVELING MATERIAL "ARDEX K-15" AS MANUFACTURED BY "ARDEX ENGINEERED CEMENTS" (www.ardex.com) OR EQUAL TO CREATE A SMOOTH LEVEL FLOOR SURFACE THAT IS FLUSH WITH THE EXISTING SLAB AT THE INTERIOR OF THE UNIT. BALCONY BELOW CEILING INSULATION: THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED AT THE CEILING CONSTRUCTION BELOW THE EXISTING BALCONY TO PROVIDE AN INSULATED 1-HR FIRE RESISTIVE RATED CONSTRUCTION: A. THE JOIST SPACE IS TO BE INSULATED WITH R-30 BLOWN-IN INSULATION INSTALLED THROUGH HOLES MADE IN THE EXISTING CEILING MATERIAL. THE INSULATION CONTRACTOR WILL PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION CERTIFYING THAT THE SPACE HAS RECEIVED FULL COVERAGE OF THE DESIGNATED R-VALUE. B. A NEW LAYER OF 5/8" TYPE X EXTERIOR DRYWALL SHEATHING WILL BE APPLIED OVER THE EXISTING CEILING MATERIAL. C. IF IT DOES NOT, THEN IT MUST BE CORRECTED TO DO SO. VERIFY IF THE STUD CAVITY IS INSULATED AND IF IT IS NOT, INSULATION SHOULD BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING A NEW LAYER OF 5/8" TYPE X DRYWALL. THE DRYWALL SHOULD BE PACKED WITH ROCK WOOL AND SEALED. THIS WALL IS TO BE CONSIDERED A 1-HR FIRE PARTITION. IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE ADJACENT UNIT SIDE OF THE WALL HAS 5/8" TYPE X DRYWALL ON IT. THE SYSTEM WILL INCLUDE MANUFACTURER SUPPLIED MOISTURE BARRIER INSULATION BOARD, FINISH COAT (TO MATCH TEXTURE OF EXISTING) AND ALL ACCESSORIES NECESSARY FOR A COMPLETE AND WARRENTED INSTALLATION. THE INSTALLERS ARE TO BE CERTIFIED BY THE MANUFATURER FOR INSTALLING THEIR PRODUCT. VERIFY THICKNESS OF INSULATION BOARD TO MATCH EXISTING. ALL NEW INTERIOR FINISHES AND COLORS ARE TO BE SELECTED AND APPROVED BY THE OWNER. ALL NEW WALL FRAMING CAN BE WOOD STUD EXCEPT THE SHAFT CONSTRUCTION NOTED AROUND THE EXISTING FIREPLACE FLUES. UNDERGROUND PARKING ENTRANCE PROTECTION: THE ENTRANCE TO THE UNDERGROUND PARKING HAS AN EXISTING MEMBRANE WHICH NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OVERHEAD. THE CONTRACTOR MUST MAKE NOTE OF THE CONDITION OF THE MEMBRANE (INCLUDING PHOTOS) PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND POST CONSTRUCTION. APPROVED ASSEMBLIES. THE CONTRACTOR WILL NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT OF ANY AND ALL SUCH PENETRATIONS SO THAT A PROPER SEALING ASSEMBLY CAN BE PROVIDED. BASED ON THE BUILDING'S LOCATION ON THE PROPERTY, THE EXTERIOR WALLS AT THE SOUTH AND EAST SIDES OF THE BUILDING ARE GREATE THAN 30 FT.
