Project Scope – Townhome Addition
Eiger Chalet, Unit 13

The project for permit review is located within the Eiger Chalet townhome development at 1370
Sandstone Drive, unit 13, Vail CO 81657. Scope of work is limited to a small two story addition to the
west side of the townhome. The construction will be of the same type as the existing structure which is
wood framing with flat roof and stucco exterior. The kitchen/dining area on the second level will be
expanded by extending the exterior wall to the west seven feet creating 149 additional gross square
feet. Two bedrooms directly above will be extended five feet creating 99 additional gross square feet on
the third level. The two story addition will be supported on piers and beams and there will be no
expansion or other work on the first level.
This addition conforms in scale and design with other existing west side additions within the townhome
development. All new exterior finishes are designed to match existing conditions which include stucco,
membrane roofing with parapet walls, and metal flashings and trims. Existing west elevation windows
will be reinstalled with no additional window openings. The existing wood deck adjacent to the
kitchen/dining will be reconstructed to match. Exterior lighting will remain un-altered by reinstalling one
wall fixture near the exterior door on the west elevation.
