In this case we have (1) 3 comp sink 14 x 18 x 18 per sink. 14 X 18 X 18 = 4,536 cubic inches 231 cubic inches per 1 gallon 4,536 / 231 = 19.6 gallons The calculation also states the fill factor of a sink is at 75 % of full sink capacity. Typically a sink is never filled to the top with water, pots and pans or the drain factor alone keeps from having a full sink capacity. 19.6 X .75 = 14.7 gallons with fill factor for each sink 14.7 X 3 (each sink) = 44.1 total gallons of 3 comp sink Divide 44.1 by 2 minute drain time 44.1 / 2 = 22.05 total gallon flow or 22.05 GPM This calculation is sufficient for in determining fixture flow rate under IPC. Please check with your local code as some jurisdictions have separate plumbing code ordinances. I have attached our spec for the GB-25. Our GB-25 is certified at 25 GPM with a Lifetime Guarantee.
