THE SYSTEM CONSISTS OF THREE EXHAUST FANS (EF-1, 2 & 3) AND THREE SUPPLY FANS (SF-1, 2
& 3) EQUIPPED WITH TWO SPEED MOTORS AND MOTOR OPERATED DAMPERS TO PROVIDE CODE
REQUIRED VENTILATION PER 2015 IMC. EXHAUST FANS AND SUPPLY FANS SHALL BE
CONTROLLED BY MACURCO DVP-120M ADDRESSABLE DETECTION AND VENTILATION CONTROL
PANEL. WALL MOUNTED CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) AND NITROGEN DIOXIDE (NO2) SENSORS,
MACURCO CM-6 AND TX-6-ND RESPECTIVELY, PROVIDE ELECTRONIC SIGNALS TO THE CONTROL
PANEL FOR EXHAUST AND SUPPLY FAN STAGING AND CONTROL.
OPERATION
CONTINUOUS VENTILATION:
THE LOW SPEED CONTACT FOR SHALL BE WIRED TO A WALL MOUNTED ON/ OFF WALL
SWITCH ADJACENT TO CONTROL PANEL FOR MINIMUM CONTINUOUS OPERATION WHEN SPACE
IS USED AS A PARKING STRUCTURE FOR CODE COMPLIANCE.
FIRST STAGE VENTILATION:
FIVE (5) CO SENSORS AND FIVE (5) NO2 SENSORS SPACED EVENLY IN THE SPACE SHALL BE SET
TO LOW CONCENTRATION FAN RELAY ACTUATION SETTINGS, 35 PPM AND 2.5 PPM
RESPECTIVELY. UPON DETECTION OF GAS, NORMALLY CLOSED MOTOR OPERATED DAMPERS
SHALL PARTIALLY OPEN (60%) AND EXHAUST AND SUPPLY FANS SHALL RUN ON LOW SPEED.
SECOND STAGE VENTILATION:
THE OTHER FIVE (5) CO SENSORS AND FIVE (5) NO2 SENSORS SHALL BE SET TO HIGH
CONCENTRATION FAN ACTUATION RELAY SETTINGS, 100 PPM AND 5 PPM RESPECTIVELY. UPON
DETECTION OF GAS, PARTIALLY OPEN MOTOR OPERATED DAMPERS SHALL FULLY OPEN (100%)
AND EXHAUST AND SUPPLY FANS SHALL RUN ON HIGH SPEED.
PROVIDE MOTOR OPERATED DAMPERS WITH END SWITCH AND WIRE HIGH AND LOW SPEED
START/ STOP SIGNALS THROUGH END SWITCH TO NOT ALLOW FAN TO OPERATE WITHOUT
PROOF DAMPER IS OPEN.
MACURCO GAS DETECTION EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED AS BASIS OF DESIGN. IF A
SUBSTITUTE IS SUBMITTED, CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE SUBMITTALS AND SHOP DRAWINGS
TO ENGINEER FOR REVIEW AND VERIFICATION OF EQUIVALENCY.
