THE EXISTING VVMC IS 4 STORIES WITH A LOWER/BASEMENT LEVEL AND HAS A CONSTRUCTION TYPE DECLARATION OF I-B PER IBC AND II (222) PER NFPA 101. BUILDING IS SPRINKLER PROTECTED THROUGHOUT, EXCEPT FOR LEVEL 2 OF THE EAST OFFICE BUILDING WHICH WILL BE REPLACED WITH THE PROPOSED EAST WING ADDITION. BUILDING HAS AN EXISTING FIRE ALARM AND DETECTION SYSTEM. THE WALL, DOOR AND THE MECHANICAL ROOM EGRESS PATH ARE BEING INSTALLED TODAY TO SUPPORT LIFE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR FUTURE WORK. CORRIDOR WIDTH: NFPA 101 SECTION 18.2.3.4 AND IBC 1020.2. THIS CORRIDOR IS 8 FT WIDE EXCEPT FOR A SMALL SECTION WHERE THE EXISTING WIDTH IS APPROXIMATELY 7 FT WIDE AND HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE DFPC. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO REQUEST THE SAME CONSIDERATION FROM THE TOWN OF VAIL AHJ AS THIS IS AN EXISTING CONDITION AND THE LENGTH OF THE CORRIDOR WITH 7 FT WIDTH IS LIMITED. SUITE SEPARATION EACH SUITE THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING IS SEPARATED FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE FLOOR/SPACES BY WALLS THAT RESIST PASSAGE OF SMOKE PER NFPA 101 SECTION 18.3.6.3.5 AND 18.2.5.7.1.2 AND SMOKE PARTITIONS PER IBC 407.4.4.2. EXISTING WALLS WILL BE UPGRADED TO SMOKE PARTITION AS NEEDED.
