Variance Request Narrative:
We are proposing changing the current driveway slope from Vail Valley Drive South edge of
sidewalk into the Lower Vail Ski and Snowboard Club Parking Garage from 4%to 5.9%. This
slope is referenced on C31, C32, C33.
We would like to modify the CDOT 4' pan at Vail Valley Drive in the driveway Right of Way
only. The previous elevation of South pan was 8204.65', we are proposing 8204.73'. This is
referenced in section on C33. The revised flow calculations for pan are listed below:
Approximate flow for each Return Period for street basin:
2-yr: 0.50 ft3/s
5-yr: 0.74 ft3/s
10-yr: 0.93 ft3/s
100-yr: 1.62 ft3/s
4' Concrete Capacity= 0.63 ft3/s
4' Conc. Pan +Sidewalk (5.5' @ 1.8%) Capacity = 2.77 ft3/s
4' Modified Conc. Pan Capacity= 1.93 ft3/s
