SUBJECT: Abandonment of an existing utility easement located within the Cliffside Subdivision
Mike Young, the owner of Lot 1, Cliffside Subdivision and Lot 4, Ridge at Vail, has requested a
re-subdivision of his property to combine these two existing lots into one larger lot to be known
as Lot 1, Cliffside Subdivision. As a part of the re-subdivision and recording of a new plat with
Eagle County, Mr. Young is requesting the abandonment of a portion of an existing platted utility
easement. The Town of Vail Community Development and Public Works Departments have
identified that the easement could be abandoned through the recording of the new Lot 1,
Cliffside Subdivision plat, if the utility companies identify they are comfortable with abandoning
that portion of the easement.
The Community Development Department staff has attached reduced copies of the proposed
plat which would vacate a portion of the currently platted utility easement. The area proposed to
be vacated appears in a shaded gray tone.
Also attached is a list of all the utility companies the Community Development Department
believes need to approve the vacation of the utility easement. If your utility company is
comfortable with the vacation of the existing easement please sign the attached sheet next to
the company for which you represent. A signature on the attached sheet will signify that your
utility company releases all rights to the platted utility easement shown as shaded on the
attached proposed plat reductions. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to
