Use certified 'water saving' irrigation emitters such as 'Hunter' brand. 2. It is recommended that punch-in emitters and the contractor starts with the lowest recommended number of emitters per plant type. If watering needs are not being met based on given soil conditions, the irrigation design should be reevaluated. Planting Notes: 1. Perennial planting areas shall have soil tilled to a depth of 12" prior to planting. Do not do this when the soil is soggy. Added soil mix shall be 50% topsoil and 50% specified organic. At the time of planting, fertilize plants with a fish emulsion or equivalent organic base liquid fertilizer. For blooming plants, rake in Osmocote full-season, slow-release 180-day pellets. Spread 2" of dark compost mulch in all planting beds. (Soil Pep is suitable) 2. Planting beds that back onto existing vegetation should be finished on the back edge with an eight-inch band of weed fabrid pinned in place and covered with wood mulch to reduce encroachment into perennial planting areas. 3. Trees: Evenly distribute slow-release fertilizer tablets 20-1-5 (N-P-K) in plant pits when backfilled 2 3 according to the following schedule: 1 tablet per 15mm caliper, or 150mm of height, whichever is less. All trees shall have wire baskets removed before back filling tree pits. 4. All trees shall have (3) guy wires and stakes per tree (West, East and South sides) 5. BOULDERS: All proposed boulders must be in place prior to planting any plant material. All boulders to be selected by landscape architect. All boulder locations to be verified with landscape architect prior to placement in the field. 6. See Sheet L1.3 for irrigation schedule and type. 7. All perennial gardens to have black plastic edging between lawn and garden areas. Perennial garden to receive min. 1" of soil pep as mulch. Shrubs and trees will all receive red cedar mulch to drip line of plant. All perennial beds will have min. 6" of organic, weed free top soil. Soil amendment will contain 30% rich, organic component. 8. Modifications to existing irrigation system will be necessary and a design/build task. Currently no as-builts are available for existing irrigation layout. Verify with facility manager. Contractor to provide as-built for irrigation installation. Deliver to Landscape Architect within 10days of completion. 9. All planting locations to be verified by Landscape Architect prior to planting. Give min.48 hours notice. Landscape Architect reserves the right to field adjust plants to exact location in the field. 10. Replace any sod damaged during landscape installation. Clear all pathways, stairs, courtyards, driveway, sidewalks and staging area of dirt and materials. Root-feed existing trees within 30' of project limits with an organic liquid fertilizer. GENERAL NOTES: 1. BEFORE DIGGING NOTIFY ALL APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANIES. 2. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE CODES AND ORDINANCES 3. NOTES AND DETAILS ON SPECIFICATION DRAWINGS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER GENERAL NOTES AND TYPICAL DETAILS. 4. CONFLICTS OR DISCREPANCIES WITH GRADES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AND ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY AND PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH WORK. 5. ALL FINISH GRADES SHALL PROVIDE FOR NATURAL RUNOFF OF WATER WITHOUT SPOTS OR POCKETS. 6. ALL COMPACTION SHALL BE DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SOILS REPORT PREPARED FOR THIS SITE. 7.
