]t was requested that a design be done to extend the roof overhangs to 18". Fallowing is
our understanding of the conditions and. recommendations-
it is our understanding that the roof framing consists of 2x8 rafters at between 16 and 24
inches on center. It is proposed that the tails of the ratters and gable walls have a roof
extension of 18".
We have enclosed a sitetch for the modifications of the two conditions to be modified.
The lumber should consist of ~ Fir #2 minimum, The "Micro-=I.atns" should be by
True-Joist Corporation with a minimum flexural strength of 2,800 pounds per square
inch. If the roof sheathing is partially removed and replaced it should be extended to at
least one member or two feet beyond the limits of the added members.
