Inspection of shop fabrication or field work at job site: Field
Report: Inspected the thin film intumescent fireproofing for thickness per
procedures & frequencies in the AWCI 12-B standard at the steel columns &
beams level 2 & level 3, as per the attached field report form. Note chapter 17 of
the IBC references AWCI 12-B, as the reference manual for special inspection of
intumescent fireproofing. Note per AWCI 12-B design thickness plus 20% was
recorded & used to determine average thickness on field reports where readings
exceeded design thickness by 20%.
The intumescent fireproofing inspected, as outlined above appeared to
meet/exceed the UL/product design information for a one hour fire rating.
To the best of my knowledge this completes the special inspections of the
structural steel onsite welding & intumescent fireproofing, as outlined in reports
#1 thru #4 for the project.
