Chris, after talking with you and Carolyn I am going to resurface the deck as is. I do not want to go through with the
hassle of getting a contractor permit. There will be no structural changes to the deck just a resurfacing. I could not find a
way to modify the original submission after I made it. Thanks and let me know if you need anything else,

Hi Dr. King,
I am reviewing your Design Review Board application (DRB18‐0299) for your deck at your property in
Vail. The description of the work states:
I have a 40'LX10'W second level deck that is in need of resurfacing due to warping and decay of the
natural wood decking boards. I plan to use Trex ("spiced rum") composite decking boards which are the
same color and style I used for a previous DRB approved deck project last year. Because i expect the new
composite decking boards to last forever, I plan to replace some of the existing joists which are showing
some signs, i.e. water staining, of their age. I plan to extend the last 1/4 of the length of the deck to
a width of 12'.
If you plan to extend the deck, then we will need a site plan showing the location and dimensions of the
deck. This is required to verify setbacks. Please provide a site plan, which can be uploaded to Project
Dox, where your original plan set was submitted.
