Conditions:
- Prior to requesting a Final Planning inspection, Applicant shall paint the exposed vent and louvers to match
the background wall color.
- All exposed metal flashing, trim, flues, vents, and rooftop mechanical equipment shall be anodized, painted
(adjacent facade/roof material color or flat black), or capable of weathering so as to be non-reflective
pursuant to Section 14-10-5C, Building Materials and Design, Vail Town Code, pror to requesting final
inspections.
- Approval of this project shall lapse and become void one (1) year following the date of final approval, unless
a building permit is issued and construction is commenced and is diligently pursued toward completion.
- Design Review Board approval does not constitute a permit for building. Please consult with Town of Vail
building personnel prior to construction activities.
- Design Review Board approval shall not become valid for 20 days following the date of approval, pursuant
to the Vail Town Code, Chapter 12-3-3 Appeals.
- No changes to these plans maybe made without the written consent of Town of Vail staff and/or the
appropriate review committee(s).

Re: 9 Vail Road Unit 30 Remodel: Make-up air Vent
Dear Paul:
The Board of Directors has reviewed by e-mail your proposal to install in the balcony wall a make-up air
vent for the new kitchen exhaust fan as required by code. The Board has agreed that in the interest of
completing this project, this vent and damper may be installed as proposed and shown in the drawings
and specifications that accompanied the proposal:
− Provided it can be installed on or before the earlier of 2 days before Vail Mountain opening day
(November 14) or, if opening day is later, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving (November 20). If
not, it may be appropriate to seek a less complex solution
− To the right of the bedroom sliding door (looking out) and above the balcony light fixture with
steel lintel above the opening as shown by KRM Consultants, Inc.
o The light fixture may not be relocated per the requirement that no changes be made to
the architectural features of the building
o The vent cover shall be painted to match the building
o All damage to exterior to be repaired and painted
− A duct system will bring the air into the living room/dining room/kitchen area per code
o Since this system will bring unheated air into the unit, it is recommended that the air in
this duct system not blow d onto the thermostat for this area
This approval is subject to all prior conditions of approval and to the construction agreement governing
this renovation project.
