*Field Inspection
Dear Mr. Lockaby,
As requested, structural steel special inspection was conducted per the IBC 2015
Edition - Chapter 17: Structural Tests and Special Inspection and Eagle County
requirements. I arrived at your facility at 10:30 AM. I met with you to review project
requirements and areas ready for inspection. The Welding Procedure Specifications
(WPS) and Welder Qualification Test Reports (WQTR) for welders employed with A4S,
LLC were reviewed and found to be in compliance with project specifications. Copies of
certifications are on file with you. From there, I followed you to the above referenced
jobsitc for shop and field inspection.
Visual welding inspection was conducted utilizing structural drawings provided
by Anthem Structural Engineering. I observed 3 each Beam to Column fillet welded
connections at locations A, B, C, D and E (no grid lines were noted on the supplied
drawings) utilizing the First & Second Floor Framing Plan Drawings # SI.1 & S1.2, as
well as the shop fillet welded connection due to no inspection was conducted prior to
installation. You also advised me of the addition of a connection plate at location C. Upon
completion, all welding and on the items of inspection referenced above were observed to
be in compliance with project specifications and the visual requirements stated in Clause
6 of AWS DI.1 Code: 2015 Edition.
