Instructions for calculating ELECTRICAL permit fees: The Electrical permit fees listed in this section are mandated by the State of Colorado, Colorado Revised Statute §12-23- 117(3). They are subject to review and adjustment annually. Fees are based on either RESIDENTIAL or ALL OTHER FEES. Do not use both categories to determine your fees. Please note the Town of Vail still requests you list the valua- tion of work on RESIDENTIAL permits as we report on this data. The State of Colorado allows local jurisdictions to charge up to 15% above their mandated fees as listed below. Inspections: Permit fees include TWO inspections only. For ALL additional inspections, including re-inspection for cor- rections issued by the electrical inspector, a $57.50 fee is required. This fee must be paid before any additional inspec- tions will be performed. Construction Use Tax: See formula listed on page 1 in the Building Permit Fees section. Construction use tax will be applied to any electrical permit with a valuation exceeding $10,000 where there is NO building work. Will Call: $5.00 applied to every electrical permit. When calling for your inspection, simply state that you would like "Will Call"and leave the best contact name and number. The inspector will call you on his or her way to your site. Section A. Town of Vail Schedule of Permit Fees TOWN OF VAIL The Plan Review Fee is required to be paid at submittal. The balance of the Permit Fees are collected upon issuance of the permit. DRB Approval: Required for any projects that involve ANY exterior work or increase in Gross Residential Floor Area (GRFA) must first apply to, and be approved by, the Design Review Board (DRB) PRIOR to applying for a building permit. Examples of exterior work: re-painting, additions, re-siding, window replacement. Energy Code Compliance Form: Available at http://www.enerovcodes.gov Will-Call Inspection: The Town of Vail charges $5.00 on each building, plumbing, mechanical and permit for this service. Improvement Location Certificate (ILC): A survey confirming foundation location and final building height (framing) must be submitted and reviewed prior to your framing inspection (for new construction and additions). Fireplaces: The Town of Vail has adopted restrictions on the number and types of fireplaces. Each new dwelling unit may contain either: One (1) EPA Phase II wood burning fireplace and unlimited gas fireplaces; OR Two (2) gas log fireplaces and unlimited gas fireplaces. Public Way Use Permits: Required for new construction, utility work, work in or connecting to the right-of-way (such as driveway pans), staging on the street, etc. Revocable Public Way Use Permits are required for all private improvements permanently located in the right-of-way (such as retaining walls, trees, etc). Materials can be submitted either digitally or on paper. Whichever method you select all materials shall be submitted in that format throughout the Building Review process. The Town encourages you to consider using the submittal of digital documents and plans. If submitting digitally all elements of the application shall be uploaded to the Town's share file site as a complete set of ma- terials. If submitting paper see # of Plan Sets (paper only) in the guidelines set on page one of this form. Paper, Format&Scale I Drawings must be submitted on minimum 11"x17" or larger size paper. 24"x36"is recommended for most projects • All sheets in a drawing set must be the same size and sequentially labeled and dated.
