The purpose of our site visits was to observe and test the soil exposed in the foundation excavation for a proposed addition. The excavation was located on the northwest corner of the existing residence. It consisted of one L-shaped trench, about 4 feet wide and about 4-12 feet below the existing grade. The bottom of the trench was at the same grade as the existing foundation of the garage area. The soil exposed at the bottom of the trenches consisted of sandy gravel with cobbles and boulders. The soil exposed in the foundation excavation,for the proposed addition is suitable for the designed maximum allowable soil bearing pressure of 2000 psf The bottom of the excavation was compacted. Soft spots were not reported. This report has been prepared according to locally accepted professional geotechnical engineering standards. There is no other warranty either expressed or implied.
