Sampling: During the sampling procesa, suspect ACM was sepazat�ci into three EPA categories. These cat,egaries aro thermal system insulation (TSI}, surfacin$ ACM, and miscellaneous ACM. TSI iacludes all rnaterials used to prevent heat loss or gain ar water candensation on mechanica] systcros. Examples of TSI are pipe covarings, boiler insulatiom, duct wrap, and mud packed fitting cement. Surfacing ACM includes all ACM that is sprayed, trowelled, or otherwise applied to a surface. Theae applications are most cammonly used in fireproofing, decorative and acaustical applications. Miscellaneous materials include a11 ACM not listed 'w the thermal system insularion or surfacing categories, such as linoleum, vinyf asbe.stos flooring, and ceiling tile.
