containing building materials at 5195 Main Gore Drive North, Vafl, Colorado.
This investigarion was conducted on behalf of and for the exclusive use of Adams
Constrnction (client}, solely for use in a limited �sbestos survcy of the property. This
report and the findings herein shall not, in whole or in part, be disseminated or conveyed
to any other party, nor used by any other party, in whale or in part, without prior written
consent of Boulder Environmenta[ Management.
The results of this survey are limited to materials that were assessable and foreseeab(e.
Additional materials may exist behind hard surfaces. Personnel knowledgeable of
asbestos containing matcrials should always oversee demolitian activiti.es. Demolition
work should be halted and sampling performed. by a state of Colorado licensed building

Introdaction:
On October 17, 2005, Boulder Envi.ronmental Management, Inc.'s buildin$ inspector,
Matt Jacobson, r�oaducted butk samplin� of susuected asbesta��ontaininQ materials
under the direction of our clieat.
Sampling:
During the sampling procesa, suspect ACM was sepazat�ci into three EPA categories.
These cat,egaries aro thermal system insulation (TSI}, surfacin$ ACM, and miscellaneous
ACM. TSI iacludes all rnaterials used to prevent heat loss or gain ar water candensation
on mechanica] systcros. Examples of TSI are pipe covarings, boiler insulatiom, duct
wrap, and mud packed fitting cement. Surfacing ACM includes all ACM that is sprayed,
trowelled, or otherwise applied to a surface. Theae applications are most cammonly used
in fireproofing, decorative and acaustical applications. Miscellaneous materials include
a11 ACM not listed 'w the thermal system insularion or surfacing categories, such as
linoleum, vinyf asbe.stos flooring, and ceiling tile.
Boulder EnvironmentallViaaagement, Inc. fallowed EFA raeommended sampling
guidelines for identiftcatioa of asbestos in bulk matrices. A set of three (3}, fivc (5), or
seven {7) samples wer� collected far each material iype and analYzed bY p°larized Light
Microscopy (PLM}. Each sample set was systematically analyzed- Upon determination
that a sample in a set contained asbestos, analysis of the romaining samples in the set was
discontinued. If no asbestos was detected during the analYses, the suspect material was
detiermined to l�e negative for asbesros conten�

components. The EPA defines any material that conta.ins greater than vne percent (1%}
asbestos, utilizing PLM, as being an asbestos containing material. Materials that are
identified as "non detectad" are specified as not containing asbestos.
Conclasian:
