The following is a response to the comments from the building department. Sht A1.1/W.Hellwig/B001 The calculation for boulder wall >4’ have been provided as part of this submittal as prepared by KRM Consultants. Please refer to Structural response. Detail is on 11/S8 Sht A1.1/W.Hellwig/B002 Notation has been added to the drawings sheet A1.1, for riser and count. Stairs with 4 or more shall receive railings/guards. PROVIDE 1 1/2"x3/4" STEEL BAR STOCK RAILING AT STAIRS WITH 4 OR MORE RISERS. TOP OF RAILING TO BE 3'-0" ABOVE THE STAIR NOSING. RAILING TO RETURN TO THE WALL OR TURN DOWN TO THE TOP OF LANDING AT TOP AND BOTTOM OF STAIR On sheet A2.0, A2.1, and A2.2 the riser and treads dimensions have been called out. Detail 2/A5.2 shows the exterior guard detail. Interior rails and guards are similar construction. Sht A2.1/W.Hellwig/B001 Safety Glazing: notes have been added to the window schedule on sheet A3.2 that clearly call out locations of safety glazing/tempered. Sht A2.1/W.Hellwig/B002 Mech ventilation at bathrooms. Fans are shown on sheet A6.0, A6.1, and A6.2 reflected ceiling plans. Sht A2.2/W.Hellwig/B001 Gas Burning appliances in sleeping rooms. The proposed fireplace will be a sealed gas fireplace appliance that is approved for installation within sleeping rooms. Sht A2.2/W.Hellwig/B002 Safety Glazing: notes have been added to the window schedule on sheet A3.2 that clearly call out locations of safety glazing/tempered. Sht A2.2/W.Hellwig/B003 Safety Glazing: notes have been added to the window schedule on sheet A3.2 that clearly call out locations of safety glazing/tempered. Sht A2.2/W.Hellwig/B004 Safety Glazing: notes have been added to the window schedule on sheet A3.2 that clearly call out locations of safety glazing/tempered. Sht A2.3/W.Hellwig/B001 Snow brake. A snow brake was added to the sheet A2.3 at the north roof area. Detail previously submitted shall apply Sht A2.0/W.Hellwig/B001 Sheet A2.0 has a note added to show self-closing hinges and 20-min rating on door between garage and house. Also in schedule shown on sheet A3.0 Sht A2.0/W.Hellwig/B002 On sheet A2.0, A2.1, and A2.2 the riser and treads dimensions have been called out. Detail 2/A5.2 shows the exterior guard detail. Interior rails and guards are similar construction. Detail 5/A4.2 has been added for East unit’s stair from garage to Main Level. Sht A3.0/W.Hellwig/B001 Detail 2/A5.2 add to show the exterior guard detail. Sht A6.0/W.Hellwig/B001 Smoke/CO and outlets. These have been added to the sheet A6.0, A6.1, and A6.2 Sht A6.2/W.Hellwig/B001 Smoke/CO and outlets. These have been added to the sheet A6.0, A6.1, and A6.2 Sht S1/W.Hellwig/B001 Soils report has been added to the submittal. Sht S1/W.Hellwig/B002 The calculations have been provided as part of this submittal as prepared by KRM Consultants. Please refer to Structural response. Sht A0.3/W.Hellwig/B001 Unvented attic and roof insulation. Notes and Details on sheet A0.3, A5.1 and A5.2 have been revised to R806.5. Typical roofs are now vented. Corrugated baffles at the underside of roof sheathing, with blown-in BIBS (loose fill fiber glass insulation). 1 roof form is unvented see key plan on sheet A0.3. Waterproof deck over interior spaces are also unvented. At Unvented roof/deck locations the insulation is closed cell spray foam insulation with fiberglass batts below. Sht A0.3/W.Hellwig/B002 Architect’s stamp has been added to the sheets title block Sht A5.1/W.Hellwig/B001 The wall assembly shall be continuous. The detail has been updated to show a layer of 5/8” type ‘x’ GWB on the inside of the rim joist so that the 2 layers of GWB are continuous from foundation to roof. Sht A5.1/W.Hellwig/B002 Unvented attic and roof insulation. Notes and Details on sheet A0.3, A5.1 and A5.2 have been revised to R806.5. Typical roofs are now vented.
