Re : Scope of Work for Fire Alarm System
Dear Mike,
The following is a scape of work to be perFormed for the remodel occurring in the Antlers unit
503. The scope of work will be to bring the remodeled area up to NFPA standards and Vail
Fire Departments Fire Alarm Standard currently adopted by Vail Fire Department. Work
performed will be to extend the current notification appliance circuit from the junction box
located just outside of the space and connect it to three new mini-horns to be located in each
room and common living room / eating area. Four new 120vac single station smoke
detectors will be installed in each bedroom and directly outside of the bedroom. Each single
station smoke will have isolated heat detector contacts that will be monitored by a monitor
module currently located just outside of the space. 120vac will be installed and terminated
by a qualified electrician. These devices will be added to the current main fire alarm control
system, a Notifier AFP-400 in the Antlers building and will provide � continuity between the
remodeled area and the existing building.
Once the rough-in work has been completed CSWC will notify Vail Fire Department to
perform a rough-in inspection. Once alI construction has been completed and device
terminations can be done CSWC will completely test the system, CSWC will contact Vail Fire
Department and schedule a final fire alarm test of the remodeled area.

This letter is intended to describe the full scope of work for changes to the fire sprinkler system that
will be performed by Westem States Fire Protection to accommodate the remodel at unit 503, Antlers
Lodge.
Required modifications to the fire sprinkler system are as follows:
: Relocate 1%Z copper main from demising wall to wall dividing living room and bedrooms.
: Remove existing sidewall heads and extend pipe above new ceiling to new pendent heads, in living
room.
: Relocate sidewall heads in bedrooms from existing main to relocated main. (Demising wall to wall
dividing living room and bedrooms.)
: Add finro heads in new closets befinreen bunk room and bedroom #1.
It is our understanding that this letter and the floor plan from architectural services will be sufficient to
obtain a permit to proceed with the work described above. No other work will be done without
authorization from VFES. If further information is required to issue a permit ptease contact our office in
Glenwood Springs at 970-61&3294.
