On 22 W Meadow, our goal is to raise the doors 2-3".The walls are precast concrete so we know there is max 3" of blocking above each door before we get to the concrete panels. 2"-3" of height will be negligible on the outside(especially given the substantial balconies in between levels) but will make a difference on the inside given the ceiling beams are only 7'-8" above floor finish. I went and measured the difference between the head trim and bottom of the concrete beams above for our unit deck and the same below. Interestingly, the unit below has a 4 1/2" band of stucco between the trim and beams while our unit has a 7 1/2" band of stucco between the trim and beams.Therefore, by us raising our doors/trim 2"-3" it will make the two levels more consistent. See attached photo. This is something we want to push on and believe it is a straight forward approval. In the end,we will be improving the consistency experienced on the exterior. No changes to the front railings? Also I'm working on your project at 22 W Meadow—there's a note on the proposed elevation that says "raise height of new openings as high as existing structure allows."In order to staff approve the door replacement we'll need the door dimensions to match the existing dimensions.
