Building Pernut
I dropped off a building pernut application along with 2 copies of unstamped drawings with John on 3/19/08. I told John
that I would fed-ex 2 copies of the stamped drawings. I am also sending the Mechanical Pernvt application from Kuck
Mechanical far this project. The electrical permit has been turned in by Guarantee Electric. I was wondering if I could pay
for all three pernuts for this project, as we are being reimbursed by Eagle River WW District. I think that it would make
things easier. Please call if you have any questions or if you need any additional information.

The question by Kuck mechanical: Drawing M-8, Section A calls out Duct penetration as per Detail 5 on
M-10. Detail 5 notes to secure angle to masonry wall with expansion bolt at 6" O.C. ( Typ. both sides ).
The anchors are currently installed at 12" O.C. Please ask the design team if this will be acceptable. The
Town of Vail Building Inspector has requested that this deviation is acceptable by the Engineer. WE ARE
REQUESTING INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING:
Please provide a written directive on how to proceed. Descriptions of materials and methods should be
accompanied by drawings, sketches and specifications if not covered by applicable contract documents.
KJ Response: Due to the duct being supported by the wall at the penetration, it is the opinion of the
Engineer that anchors 12" O.C. are adequate.
Please note that because of our contractual obligation and Kuck Mechanical's status as a subcontractor to
Glacier Construction, we are not providing any direction on how to proceed.
