R E S O L U T I O N
A RESOLUTION RESTRICTING HUNTING ACTIVITIES IN THE
VICINITY OF VAIL FOR THE SAFETY AND PROTECTION OF
LOCAL CITIZENS
WHEREAS, the hunting season for the year 1971 wi11 begin
on or about October 17; and
WHEREAS, certain hazardous conditions were allowed to
prevail in the Vail area and its environs in the past years relat-
ing to unrestricted hunting in the immediate: area; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the community to preserve
and maintain safe conditions for persons and property by restrict-
ing hunting in the area surrounding the Town of Vail.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO, AS FOLLOWS;
THAT the Board of Trustees .for the Town of Vail respect-~
fully recommends that the Eagle County Board of County Commissioners
and the Colorado State Game, Fish and Parks Department take any and
all necessary measures to prohibit any hunting or discharge of fire-
arms (with the exception of the Vail I'alice Department Practice
Range) in the area of Gore Valley extending west from the Gore
Creek Campground to Dowd Junction, along Interstate Highway 70,
for an area extending from the ridge tops on the south to the
ridge tops on the north.

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING LOUTS ROMERO FOR HIS
SERVICE AS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR WITH THE TOWN OF
VATL FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME COMMENCING ON JAN-
UARY 12, 196'1, TO APRIL 16, 1971, AND SETTING
FORTH DETAILS TN RELATION THERETO
WHEREAS, Louis Romero, for the past four and one-half
years has held the position of equipment operator with the Town
of Vail and has served the Town of Vail, the Board of Trustees,
and the residents of the Town of Vail during said period with a
high degree of ski11, dedication, and competency; and
WHEREAS, Louis Romero has, during this entire period,
shown keen interest in his work, enthusiasm for getting a job
done and giving good service to the public; and
WHEREAS, Louis Romero, throughout his tenure, has
served with loya7.ty and devotion, which has reflected great
credit upon himself and the Town of Vail;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Board of Trust-
ees of the Town of Vail that Louis Romero, retiring equipment
operator with the Town of Vail, be especially commended and
honored for his long and devoted service to the Town of Vail.
and the Board of Trustees of the Town of Vail, for themselves
and as spokesmen for the citizens of Vail and the Town admin-
istration, do hereby wish to express their gratitude .and thanks
for a job well done.

RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ERIK EDEEN TO THE POSITION
OF LOCAL HEALTH OFFICER FOR THE TOWN OF VAIL, AND
SETTING FORTH DETAILS IN RELATION THERETO.
BE TT RESOLVED that Erik Edeen be officially appointed
the local health officer for the Town of Vail, Colorado, and
that he be empowered with such authority as may be conferred
by the laws of the State of•Colorado and 1oca1 ordinances to
fulfill the responsibilities incident to this position. The
said Erik Edeen shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of
Trustees, and shall be compensated at the rate of Two Hundred
Fifty and no/100 Dollars ($250.00) per month from the Town of
Vail.

RESOLUTION
BUDGET -CERTIFICATION OF MILL LEVY
STATE OF COLORADO )
ss.
COUNTY OF EAGLE )
The undersigned, Mayor and Town Clerk for the Town of Vail
do hereby certify that a special meeting of the Board of Trustees was
held on December 7, 1971 , and the fallowing Resolution was adopted
by unanimous vote of the Board. A quorum was present at the meeting.
BE IT RESOLVED, that whereas the assessed valuation of
taxable property located within the corporate limits of the Town of Vail
for the year 1971 , as certified to by the Assessor, Eagle County, Col-
orado, is $12,135,295.00.
THEREFORE, the Town Clerk and Mayor for the Town of Vail
are hereby authorized to certify to the Board of County Commissioners,
Eagle County, Colorado, the following aggregate amounts which the
Board deems necessary to raise from the taxable property of said
Town of Vail to finance the expenditures of operation, maintenance
and improvements of the Town of Vail:
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference
incorporated herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees
of the Town of Vail do and hereby does adopt as its Budget for the
year commencing January 1 , 1972, to and including December 31 ,
1972, Exhibit "A";
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees
of the Tawn of Vail do and it hereby does levy upon all property, real,
personal and mixed, within the corporate limits of the Town of Vail,
for valuation purposes as herein described, a mill levy of Five and
Four/Tenths (5.4) mills, with Four and four/tenths (4.4} mills being
allocated to the Town of Vail General Fund and One (l.0) mill being
allocated to the Town of Vail Library Fund . The mill levy from the
preceding year was Four and Four/Tenths (4.4) mills .
