HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-12 Amending the Vail Transportation Master PlanRESOLUTION NO. 12਍ഀ Series of 2009਍ഀ A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE VAIL TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN; AND SETTING਍ഀ FORTH DETAILS IN REGARD THERETO.਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town of Vail (the "Town"), in the County of Eagle and State of Colorado਍ഀ is a home rule municipal corporation duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of਍ഀ Colorado and the Town Charter (the "Charter"); and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the members of the Town Council of the Town (the "Council") have been਍ഀ duly elected and qualified; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town of Vail and Colorado Department of Transportation are in the਍ഀ process of updating the Vail Transportation Master Plan in response to the on-going and਍ഀ projected increases in development activity, the results of past master planning processes, and਍ഀ pending redevelopment plans; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town wishes to consolidate and update the transportation master਍ഀ planning and design efforts that have been on-going for 20 years into a single master plan਍ഀ document; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the proposed plan is based upon existing conditions, current trends and਍ഀ anticipated future growth. The proposed master plan is intended to be a guide for the Town's਍ഀ Transportation system for the next 20 years; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town Council finds and determines that the amendments are consistent਍ഀ with the applicable elements of the adopted goals, objectives and policies outlined in the Vail਍ഀ Comprehensive Plan and is compatible with the development objectives of the Town; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town Council finds and determines that the amendments further the਍ഀ general and specific purposes of the Transportation Master Plan; and਍ഀ WHEREAS, the Town Council finds and determines that the amendments promote the਍ഀ health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the Town and promotes the coordinated and਍ഀ harmonious development of the Town in a manner that conserves and enhances its natural਍ഀ environment and its established character as a resort and residential community of the highest਍ഀ quality.਍ഀ NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF਍ഀ VAIL, COLORADO THAT:਍ഀ Section 1. The Council hereby approves and authorizes the amendments of the Vail਍ഀ Transportation Master Plan.਍ഀ Section 2.
