A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE INCREASE IN THE FEE SCHEDULE FOR VAILഀ
FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES; AND SETTING FORTH DETAIL IN REGARDഀ
THERETO.ഀ
WHEREAS, the Town of Vail (the "Town"), in the County of eagle and State ofഀ
Colorado is a home rule municipal corporation duly organized and existing under the laws ofഀ
the State of Colorado and the Town Charter (the "Charter"); andഀ
WHEREAS, the members of the Town Council of the Town (the "Council") haveഀ
been duly elected and qualified; andഀ
WHEREAS, the Town has adopted the International Fire Code (the "Fire Code")ഀ
under Title 10 of the Town of Vail Municipal Code (the "Municipal Code"); andഀ
WHEREAS, Section 105.1.1 of the 2003 edition and Section 113 of the 2009 editionഀ
of the Fire Code provides that a fee be paid for each permit in accordance with the scheduleഀ
as established by the applicable governing authority; andഀ
WHEREAS, such fees should be periodically adjusted to reflect the cost of theഀ
provisions of such services and to compensate for inflation; andഀ
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds and determines that the public health, safety andഀ
welfare will be served by adopting these regulations.ഀ
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THEഀ
TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO THAT:ഀ
Section 1. The Council hereby approves and authorizes Vail Fire & Emergencyഀ
Services to increase the fees for permits and services authorized under the Fire Code as setഀ
forth in the Fee Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit A.ഀ
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage.ഀ

Council of the Town of Vail held this 19th day of May, 2009.ഀ

FEE SCHEDULE - 2009ഀ
L Permitsഀ
Fire Alarm Permitsഀ
Minimum Permit Fee $288ഀ
Fee % Valuation 3.75%ഀ
Fire Sprinkler Permits $432ഀ
Fee % Valuation 4.25%ഀ
Permits issued under a Scope of Work letter shall be assessed a fee not less thanഀ
$144.00 and may be increased at a rate of $72 per hour for inspections, revisions, andഀ
similar elements.ഀ
Re-inspection and plan review for re-submittals shall be billed at $72.00 per hour.ഀ
Operational Permits, Special Event Permits, and Construction Permits other thanഀ
those required for Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler systems, issued under provisions ofഀ
the International Fire Code shall be based on an hourly rate of $72.00 per hour perഀ
person for site inspections, plan review, and permit processing.ഀ
II. Fire Reportsഀ
Copies of fire reports shall be charged out at $1.00 for the first page and I25 for eachഀ
additional page for NFIRS reports and black and white copies of photos and otherഀ
attachments printed on copier(s). Mailing charges shall be added and labor in halfഀ
hour increments at $72.00/hour.ഀ
Copies of fire reports and photos on CDIDVD shall be charged at a rate of $39.00 eachഀ
plus mailing costs. CDIDVD's are subject to agreement on format.ഀ
Hourly Rateഀ
Calls for service other than emergencies and routine responses within theഀ
corporate limits of the Town of Vail may be billed at an hourly rate with a minimumഀ
charge of one hour. Rates are as follows:ഀ
Engines (Pumpers) $517.00ഀ

Ladder Trucks $775.12ഀ
Brush Trucks $140.00ഀ
Personnel costs will be billed at a rate of $72.00 per person, one hour minimum.ഀ
Note: Excludes mutual aide and automatic aide calls to other governmentalഀ
jurisdictions and contracts with the State Forest Service and US Forest Service.ഀ
Ii. Standby Personnelഀ
Standby fire personnel shall be billed at a rate of $72.00 per hour per person.ഀ
