Dear Liquor Licensee:
TM
VAIL 1989
I have been authorized by the Local Liquor Licensing Authority
for the Town of Vail to define the stance the board will take
regarding the Great Race, to be held Wednesday, April 13, 1988,
in Lionshead.
The same level of accountability will be enforced and violations
responded to as is currently the attitude with other special
events within the Town of Vail. The Liquor Authority wishes to
emphasize that only licensed liquor facilities will be able to
sell and serve alcohol, and no consumption of alcohol off
licensed premises will be allowed.
We are encouraging the following strategies to help with the
festivities of the day:
1) Easy fence should be maintained as the boundary of
your licensed deck area.
2) Designated drivers should be supported.
3) Use of the Vail Police Department is advocated in
training personnel, as well as developing any
additional tactics or cooperative procedures for
that day.
The Lionshead Mall area will not be a designated drinking area;
the police will be citing violators, both from the participants
and the liquor licensed establishments.
Ted Martin of U.S. Sports and Jerry Davis from KZYR are acting
as organizers for this event. It is their expressed concern
and desire to hold this event in a non - alcoholic environment
in order to assure the continued approval of the Great Race.
